Updates for the week of July 9 -15/06

Hi Pregnant ladies!

I can't keep up with all the posts so hope it's okay to put in a new week so I can check in to see how you are all doing!

Sounds like everyone is still doing well. Congratulations Amy to making it to the second trimester - I am hoping the bleeding clears up soon - you know we had one patient who bleed through her whole pregnancy and gave birth to a beautiful baby boy plus a few women I know on the other boards bled intermittenly up until 16 weeks and they are now in their third trimester almost due. I am so thrilled to hear everyone else is doing well and the little beans are growing.

Look forward to reading your updates!

I myself think I am over the worst. Had my baby blues last week - still somewhat more emotional than usual but could be lack of sleep/bf etc. I am starting to feel more 'human' re: the c-section. The pain of the surgery is gone - just this darn back pain/neck pain - OB told me I am one of the very rare few who reacted to the spinal with it bothering my back muscles. I know if I could do my yoga it would help but have to wait - so still on ibuprofen for that pain but the c-section pain is almost gone. I am still taking easy though as I don't want to build up too much scar tissue. I plan on going on my first 'stroller walk' with Shanelle today. Ds has been having some issues but nothing as bad as it could be so we are blessed. Shanelle is bf well - sleeping 2 hours in between feeds and so content and happy - I am in amazement Dh had some 'temper tantrums' last week but I had a talk with him and he seems to have calmed down (I don't think men really get how much work SAM's really do until they have to take over )

Well, ladies - I am thinking of you and sending good thoughts your way for a healthy, wonderful week for all of you and your little blessings.

Barbara

Barbara,

Glad you are settling in OK. You must be happy to be able to get out a bit for a walk.

As far as me, I don't have anything going on with me. Just waiting for my OB appointment next Thursday and then my Level 2 the week after that. Growing a little bit bigger every week. . .

Haven't heard back about my Spina bifida results, but I'm not going to be concerned about it. I can wait another week for my OB appointment.

Amy glad to hear you are feeling better.

Hopefully everyone else is doing great!

Barbara - Glad you're doing well.

Melissa - When/how did they test for spina bifita? I have a very mild case of it so they have had me on extra folic acid since ttc.

Tomorrow is my CVS. I'm not really nervous which scares the crap out of me. I think we'll also have a 3D u/s tomorrow too. At least I hope so because I have been totally looking forward to that.

Right at this moment I feel like someone is pushing all of my intestins into a balls. Owwweeee!!! Pain and burps!! Anyone know what I am talking about?

HI:

Melissa - already up to level II ultrasound in 2 weeks so I am assuming you will be around 19 -20 weeks!! That is wonderful. The level II was my most favourite test and I was feeling really good by then - showing, etc. but none of the uncomfy stuff yet. Plus it was when we started to tell people. So looking forward to your results

Houndlover: Good luck tomorrow. I never had the CVS but the amnio - I will say a prayer for you and babe and keep you in my thoughts. I also know about the burbs and pain (I also got a lot of gas )

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Barbara

Houndlover--Goodluck tomorrow! I'm sure things will turn out fine. I hope you get your 3D picture too--I had mine at 12w and it was amazing how much they are like little people already!

Spina bifida was one vile of blood, but I didn't have the triple or the quad screen.

Barbara, I can't believe I'm almost half way there either! My level 2 will be at 20w1d.

Just a quick update because we've been on the go all day....

Everything went well today. The nuchal fold measurement was nice and small. They did NOT do 3D u/s but we did get lots of great views of our little one. I will have the final results from the CVS next week.

I need a nap!!!
