Hey everyone!
I am 11 weeks 1 day today. Tomorrow is my 23rd wedding anniversary. Hard to believe it has been that long. LOL. DH might say otherwise. My baby's heart rate is running in the 160's. A girl ya think?

Hooray, hooray, Hooray!! I saw a h/b at exactly 6w. For anyone following my saga, my 3rd and 4th beta did not double at the 48 hour rate and I have had these taken while on the road for work. They were doubling at calculated rates of 56 and 61 hours. So my RE told me to get an u/s if I could because he was worried about an ectopic preg. I left work early, found one of the two RE clinics in the whole state and got an u/s. And it was very very good. I am 6w today and the little bean is measuring at 6w with a h/b of 122. The yolk sac is there and it is in my uterus. I am sooooooo relieved!
Now I just have to get past my ghost dates of 8 and 11 weeks. Passed one ghost date (5 w) already. I am biting my fingernails but am so relieved to have seen that h/b and that singleton pregnancy in the right place!!! Warm, happy, and positive thougts going out to everyone! |

Annie - That's great news - you must be so relieved. I know what you mean about ghost dates; my advice, for what it's worth, is to be extra nice to yourself that day as you get through it with your new babe.
I have my first OB appointment tomorrow and hope to feel as positive as you after it. I'm hoping her equipment won't be a total disappointment after the RE's, and of course that everyone (there are 2) will still be healthy and growing. Good luck to all this week! Julia |

Quick hey all. We had an awesome long weekend in VT -- blue skies and sun. Back in Boston it was gray, humid and rainy all weekend.
AnnieB -- hurray! I am so thrilled for you! 1 ghost day down, 2 to go. I am now a firm believer that the h.b. helps keep the ghosts away. ;-) Seriously, I know it's scary, but you and your little one are on track. Congrats! Good luck Julia -- let us know how it goes. Tlink -- happy belated anniversary. hope it was a good one! Barbara (oldermama) -- good luck tomorrow! How very exciting! I don't know what the etiquette is for wishing someone well with their c-section, but I hope it all goes well. Hope everyone else is doing well, -tia |

Hey Ladies,
Tink, Congrats on 23 years of Marriage. Annie, How wonderful seeing your babies heartbeat, pretty exciting huh? (smile) Tia, glad you had a great weekend. Julia, hope your OB appt went well today. OLDERMAMA - Can't wait to hear about the birth of your little one. C-section or not, a birth is going to happen and your beautiful baby will be brought before your eyes soon to hold, kiss, and love on. (smile) I pray that everything goes well and you have a very health recovery. God bless. As for me, I have an appt tomorrow. 13 weeks! Woo Hoo! Official 2nd trimester starting. The nausea came back, so I'm praying that it really starts to subside and stay gone. Not as bad as it was though. (smile) |

Thanks for asking ladies - honestly my appointment was something of a disaster. The appointment scheduler put me down for an annual exam - even though I was very clear on the phone. So, I came in on the ONLY day they don't have a sonographer. After we straightened out WHY I was there, and got real clear on the fact that I wouldn't get the kind of information that I needed to stop the panic. The exam itself was fine if underwhelming, and the OB herself is nice, good, has good rep, etc. Talked about twin stuff. But my DH wisely called my RE and told them I was really scared and really needed a u/s. They, understanding panic driven IF patients, said to come on in and showed me my babies, hearts beating, and arm/leg buds floating around. SO long story not getting any longer (sorry), I got what I needed to feel better, but it was a B*^&H of a morning.
Tia - Sounds like you had a great weekend; good for you!! We're trying to plan a couple of days of R&R - I'll use your message as inspiration. Faith - Congrats on 2nd trimester!! Hang in there with the m/s. Good luck Oldermama and everyone else who's got some kind of mileston/test/event coming. It all seems to go so fast. Hugs, Julia |

Oh Julia, Welcome to the wonderful world of the totally busy, loosely managed OB's office. What a drag for your first appt. But you have a wonderful DH and RE. Thank goodness they can help. I don't know what the deal is with OB offices but more often than not that kind of thing happens. When pregnant with my DD, I used to schedule as many appts as far ahead as I could to try to deal with the insanity. Oh and hear is a tip, if you OB has satellite offices that are convenient to you, try to book in one of those locations. Sometimes when they are in the main office, they get more behind because the days are more heavily booked and they have surgery in the morning or have to cover deliveries during the day. Glad to hear the two wee ones look great.
