possible strain?

Hi, i am 18weeks pregnant. & without thinking today i dragged my 22kilo dog out of the house, she ran inside as she was scared(there were gun shots outside) we live on a property & people go shooting dear etc, so it freaks her out, and she was petrified, so when she ran inside i grabbed her & dragged her out, .. afterwards i thought holy lord, could this have hurt me & the baby , dragging this heavy thing out, & i had to do it twice. it didnt hurt, but how safe is the fetus. thanks....

could this have put any strain on the baby,(i know people have things like car accidents & bad falls & things are OK)

Hi Ladie:

I think you are fine - my son has autism and he sometimes gets upset and tantrums and I have to lift him off the ground or help move him (he weighs 48 kilos) - I have thought I might have hurt the baby at times but all is well (I am 29 weeks now) They say the baby is pretty safe inside the womb plus at 18 weeks is still small enough to be really protected. So as long as you feel okay I think everything is okay.

I did a lot of lifting, dragging, etc. at my job until I was into my 3rd trimester (when it became physically impossible because of my size!). I never had any problems.

ladie,
make sure if anything changes call your MD. I bet you are fine- I lifted children and cared for my totally dependent 100+ pound disabled son (not lifting him but moving him)during all my pgs.

Hi- PLEASE be careful lifting or dragging anything. When I was PG with my DS I lifted a heavy box of insurance booklets at work, and I felt an awful heated tearing feeling on my right pelvic area, about 3 hours later I went to the bathroom and I was bleeding. To say the least I freaked out. We went to the Dr and found out I tore my placenta. Not good. It took a while and many US later, but it healed and my son was delivered healthy. PLEASE be careful, I know it's easy to forget and want to do the things you did before you were PG, but trust me, you don't want to see blood. It was not good.

Take Care!
