Missing baby?
I was fooled? Last period was 1/27, and then bled two days on Feb 25 and 26 (not normally though). Haven't really stopped spotting dark brown since. Was concerned, so finally took a pregnancy test and wouldn't you know, POSITIVE! Saw the OB and had beta test done (2583). Didn't find a baby in the uterus, so she gave no hope. Next day had beta (3400) and saw uterus thicker, but still no real evidence of baby. Now we wait and repeat on Monday. I am trying to have faith. Anyone else in this spot? no cramping, etc. No history of problems in previous pregnancies (ectopic). I would love to hear....

Missing? Well...if there is no sign at 3400 that there is an embryo, I can understand the whole ectopic concern. I can't speak for anything aside from my first pregnancy which was indeed ectopic and ruptured before it hit 1000.

I don't know. I have no experience with that. I would think with a # that high that you would see something. Let us know.... OK

I am sorry to say that it sounds like an ectopic pregancy to me. With the dates of your lmp and your hcg level being what it is, I would expect to see something in utero. I hope that is not the case though... good luck to you...

i too had the same thing going on early in my pg.
I was not sure when my lmp was. I went in after I got a + hpt and they did an u/s and beta. Nothing showed up on the u/s my my beta was high. I went back every other day for about a week for u/s and blood work. My beta was rising but they still could not see anything on an u/s. My dr called and told me to immediately go to the hospital for a higher tech u/s to rule out and ectopic. No ectopic found, beta still rising, still nothing on an u/s. finally after many agonizing days and trips for blood work and u/s we finally saw a sac. It was just a late developer, or we were just looking too early I guess. Just another one of the "mysterious" things my body seems to do when I get pg. I am now 26 weeks and the baby looks great. I too searched this bb and looked for anything positive I could grab on to. Good luck. . . positive thoughts and tons fo prayers being sent your way. I am sorry you have to go thru this! Denise |

I too hope that the next time you have an u/s that something shows up... the HCG testing process is so agonizing! You start to feel like a human pin cushion, but if in the end, everything turns out ok, it doesn't matter! Positive thoughts coming your way.

Thanks, everyone, for the faith and concern
I have spent the last few days on this site. It has provided some good information, but as in most pregnancies, can't put an exact finger on my situation. What is most encouraging is that there are kind people out there willing to pray and hope for the best. I think that means a lot.
Thanks, really! Diane (39 and counting) DH - Eric DS - Andy 9/12/86 (a few angels in here).... DD - Kristina 8/27/89 DS - Matthew 9/5/91 DS - Bruce 2/8/94 DD - Katherine (Katie Bug) 11/2/04 Going for 6 ?? - If all goes well, should be due 11/06 |
