Question implantation near C Sect scar

Has anyone been told the embryo has implanted close to their previous C Sect scar? I was just told that and I am wondering if this could mean a tough pregnancy. I am almost 6 wks preg. Thank you!
Cynthia

I had one of those in September 05. The baby did not form correctly because of scar tissue and I was told I would not be able to carry it anyway. I had to have a D&C November 1, 2005. I did get + again in december 05 with a high implanted baby, but it passed in February 06 for unknown reasons.
I wasnt given much hope with my low implantation from either ob or RE. See my history it explains alot.
Good luck.

It is my understanding, which of course might be wrong, that the bigger risk is to you than to the baby. It means you would be at greater risk for placenta accretia, where the placenta grows not only around your baby but also through into your previous c-section uterine scarring, so that it becomes dangerous for you at delivery time (retained placenta in the uterine wall, which can cause dangerous infection and hemhorraging), if not before that. If your OB has not already set you up with one, I strongly urge you to be monitored by a perinatalogist as well, since they'll want to keep a close eye on the placenta's growth patterns via high-level ultrasounds.

The good thing is that it doesn't necessarily mean that the placenta will grow into your previous scarring, and placentas often shift along the uterine wall as your tummy grows, meaning it could shift away from the danger zone before any potential growth happens into your scarring anyway. But they should be keeping a very close eye on it along the way.

If the worst happens, and your pregnancy progresses into placenta accretia, you'll absolutely be having a repeat c-section and it will be a trickier one. But those procedures do happen and everything turns out just fine. Great OB surgeons who know about the condition in advance can ensure that everything goes smoothly for you and baby.
