Brand New To All Of This!!!

I was so excited to find this site this morning. I am 38 and my husband and I have been ttc for 2 years. I finally starting working with a Reproductive Endocrinologist this summer. My DH and I have had the whole gamut of tests and procedures and everything has come up "normal". According to the doctor, there is no physical reason why I shouldn't be pg. So, I started this week with Clomid and go in next week for my first IUI. I'm scared to death of getting my hopes up and getting too excited. I've spent so much time and energy researching this, probably to my demise. I've found as much research that tells me that my chances are good as I've found that my chances are slim. I have a sister who is 2 years older than I and took the same path that I did (i.e. school, career, married late and tried to conceive late) but after much trying has managed to have two successful pregnancies. It's wonderful to watch her be a mom, but so difficult at the same time. Anyway, am so glad to have found this and will probably be asking a LOT of questions as this is all still so foreign to me.

Happy Baby Wishes to all!

Julie

Welcome Julie

There are other sites within FertileThoughts for more info on IUI's, injectionables etc. We did the clomid route with no avail, clomid with IUI's, then injectionables with IUI's, then injectionables with IVF.

We just had our baby 8/18/05 thanks to a great RE and IVF! I am 39 (38 when I conceived) ..

It's a roller coaster, don't let anyone tell you it's not. But just try to keep things in perspective and I'm sure it'll all work out. Who knows..maybe you'll get preggo on the first shot!

There was no real reason why I couldn't get pg, either. So I so understand where you're coming from.

Keep us updated and WELCOME

Amy

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your kind words. It's such a relief to find people who "get" what you're talking about and experiencing. It's like your very own personal support group!! I will surely be around a lot asking questions and offering as much support to others as I can.

Thanks again for your well-wishes!

Julie --

Welcome! I'm fairly new to these boards as well so I understand what a great feeling it is to find others who understand!

We were also ttc for 2 years, went through all the tests and came back perfectly normal... we did 8 rounds of IUI, some with just clomid, some with gonal-f and trigger shots. Sadly none of those worked. This past July we did our first round of IVF and surprise, I got a positive pg test!

Stay positive and let us know how you are doing!
