I'm 39 and pregnant with my first so I figured I'm close enough to 40 to post here. Imaima, you are having twins?? Congratulations that's so wonderful!!! I wish I was having twins as we really want 2 children, but I am very grateful that I'm pregnant at all. I didn't start trying till I was 36 when DH and I got married, and then didn't expect to encounter IF. The irony of me having to go to a fertility clinic to conceive is that when I was 31 I was an EGG DONOR, and the fertility clinic then called me back again because they said my eggs were so good and I made SO many of them!!! (35 in the first retrieval) So I didn't think I'd have problems getting pregnant, but I did. I guess my body makes the eggs but doesn't release them (doesn't ovulate) because I have PCOS. It didn't matter for being an egg donor that I didn't ovulate, because the doctor does minor surgery where he went right into my ovaries to retrieve the eggs.

Anyways, FINALLY I am pregnant after 3 cycles of IUI combined with injectibles (after a year of oral meds like Femara and Clomid that did nothing) and I thank God for that!!

As far as it happening after 40, my husband's ex wife had her 2nd child by a sperm bank at age 44 and he's fine, and my Yoga teacher had her first and only child at age 45!!!

Hi everybody- I will be 41 next week and I two month pregnant. I tried IUI, IVF and was going to do egg donor in January. I decided to try Raki just for the heck of it while waiting for egg donor ( I was waiting for January because I would take money out of my retirement) the first Raki treatment I had a chemical pregnancy, after the next treatment boom! I can't even believe it. I am sooo sick right now. Has anyone tried unisom for morning sickness? I did one pill last week and it was like a miracle, but I am afraid to take it too much even though the doc reccommended it.

Hi Star, I wanted to let you know that I've had the nausea throughout almost this entire pregnancy (34 1/2 weeks now). It was HORRIBLE in the first trimester and didn't go away so my RE told me to take Unisom. I too was skeptical... after all we waited for so long I didn't want anything to go wrong, but I did research online and my OB said the same thing, that it's completely safe so I started taking it.

I took it EVERY NIGHT for over a month. Every time I quit taking it the nausea would come back within a couple of days. Even now at almost 8 months there are some nights I have to take it. DON'T SUFFER!!! If I would've known how safe it was and how much better it would make me feel, I'd have taken it in the first trimester.

CONGRATS by the way and WHAT IS RAKI???

OMG Thanks so much winter girl. I was laying in bed this am sooo sick. The only time I get any releif is when I eat and that lasts only for a little while! I am soo happy to get that input. Raki is a "touch energy therapy" kind of like light massage but they work with a persons "healing energy" they use a massage table, music, different types of healing stones under the table.
It is very relaxing. It was reccomended to me by a friend as a last effort. Best of luck to you too.

Hi ladies,
Joining in!

Star, sorry to hear you have m/s. I'm only 5 weeks 4 days, so I don't have m/s yet...Do you mean Reiki healing? I've heard of it, haven't tried it. Heard good things about it working on energy flow, similar to QiGong healing.

Cari/Wintergirl, Hey congrats you're almost there!!! Baby due just after Christmas? Say, who's your OB? I'm trying to choose one. I have a first appt with Dr. Hoff at PAMF in Redwood City at the end of next week, but want to find a good OB or Peri who practices at Good Sam if possible. We live in downtown San Jose and I work in Palo Alto.... Howdy neighbor!
