Progesterone numbers, please, HELP!!!!

Ladies,

Hi, I am new in this board, actually I belong to the IUI board, last month in my natural IUI, (no meds.), unfortunatelly I had an early m/c, I think was because of a very low numbers in my prgesterone, they were 4.5

Could any body can tell me what are the proper progesterone number to sustain a pregnancy?
Does any body know a website were I can research about progesterone numbers when trying to ttc?

Thanks a lot!!!!

I believe anything over 20 is ok. To get info on progesterone in pregnancy, I'd go to google.com and type in "progesterone pregnancy" to get info on that.

I am sorry about your m/c and hope your next attempt will be successful for you.

Hi there.

It is also my belief that around a progesterone level of 20 is ideal to start off with, but people have had it a bit lower with success. A doc would probably presribed progesterone support if the number is low as 9-10.

I had hormonal therapy for extra lining support during my last cycle which was a success. Triple the amount of progesterone and estrogen patches helped improve the quality of my lining. My lining was usually around 6-7mm during ten previous precedures of IUIs, FETs and IVFs. Additional hormonal therapy enabled my body to reach 10mm and we beleive that helped us reach success.

A good endo lining is essential for receptivity, implantation, and of course sustaining a pg. My RE indicated that I either had a lining or chromosal issue. They wanted to do all kinds of endo biopsies and genetic testing on the embryos, but we opted for the less evasive route of hormonal support which worked for us.

Best wishes to you.

Rach 97, thanks a lot , tomorrow I have to go to the clinic for us and b/w before my IUI and I will ask for my lining number, that's a good point. I know my lining last cycle was very low, I think was 7 or 8, also thanks for the progesterone info.

Hi Little Miracle,

According to my doctor, they look for progesterone 15 or better. He also said that they fluctuate. Hang in there, I'm sure you'll be fine!
