when can you try again?

hi everyone

i had a mc on mar 4/05 i was 17.5 weeks pregnant and i had to have a emergency d & c at that time. I just had another d & c again yesterday ( apr 12/05) because the bleeding got really heavy and wouldn't stop. I was wondering when can you try after having a d &c? I know you have to wait until the bleeding stops but after it stops can we try again?

I miscarried at 5 weeks and though my doctor told me I should probably wait a cycle to try again, we were going on vacation and I said I didn't want to worry about it one way or another. Guess what, after one fun night of sushi and sake, I came home pregant! Glad we we just played it by ear! I think listening to your body is key. I also had
m/c very early, so maybe my body didn't need a break like yours might. I also was on herbs and acupuncture which for me did wonders to regulate my cycle quickly and ease my fertility issues (endo and age). But my Dr is still astounded that after years of technology and failed IVF and FET's I got pregant two months in a row naturally. I'm just at 7 weeks so we're being cautious, but this proves ANYTHING can happen.
Sorry about your loss, but just knowing pregnancy can happen at all is a great gift.
Good luck.

I think most would tell you to wait and have one normal cycle..... but it sounds like you are having a hard time getting to a normal cycle. After I lost the twins at 22.5 wks... they asked me to wait 3 normal cycles before doing another FET.
I do hope to see you posting positive news in the near future!

Hi, RLT...

I am so, so sorry for your loss... It is so hard, I know (though I didn't go 17.5 weeks... but close enough..)

When I had mine, my RE wanted me to wait one cycle at least. She was pushing for two cycles... She said that the odds of having another m/c the month after you just had one is higher.. I don't know if that is true, I just know that I didn't want to go through it again....
