what is wrong with me?!?!
Hi Ladies -
I am joining you. Am 6w3d today. Scared out of my mind about this pg as I am sure many of you can relate. With my last 2 pgs I got severe morning sickness (hypermemisis) and lost 17lbs with each pregnancy in the first trimester, ended up having home IV hydration therapy for both as well. I started to get m/s this week but doesn't seem to be the "same" as last two. This one is much more tolerable, and the zofran seems to be working this time (allows me to eat small amounts). I've always been told m/s is a sign of a healthy pregnancy, so now I am worried. I've had to take Amoxicillin (dd had strep throat), and am doing daily injections of heparin (for immune issues)...and I am 37 1/2 yrs old, dh is 40. Ovulated on cd22. Any thoughts? Is this just a different pg? So worried. Thanks All! djkfer

djkfer,
I will attest that each pg is different. at 6-7 wks most symptoms are just getting started, each of mine were different at different times. The girl pgs were different than my boy pg. When do you go for you OB appt? Maybe they will do an u/s? Try not tot stress to much... that for sure is not good for you and baby.... check back in soon, JenC

Can I barge? (I graduated from this board March 2002 when dd was born)
I have given birth to 5 children. M/S for 3 months with the lst. Only about 3 weeks with the 2nd. #3 & #4 it lasted until 6 months and was so bad I weighed under 90 lbs at 6 months pg. #5--felt a little bit "off"--but no m/s at all--I didn't throw up once. It was by far my easiest pg and delivery (at age 44). Every pg and delivery can be very different. I'd tell you to relax and not worry---but I know when pg that we never take that advice Just know what you are experiencing is very normal.Carol |

Djkfer: Wow I went through the exact same think with ds, only I was on TPN with a Hickman cathiter to feed me, and it got infected when I was 5 months, so I also ended up with toxic blood poisoning.....my son was born fine....few!!! I understand your concern, I also had a m/c @ 12 wks. Have they heard a heartbeat yet? I was told if you hear a heartbeat there's a very good chance the baby will be fine. I'm currently ttc and have been very worried about the hyperemesis again and my ob/gyn has told me every pg is different and I might be so bad this time. Good Luck.
