8 weeks and have fibroids

i'm 8 weeks now and had some bleeding the other day and went to the hospital and when they did an ultrasound the dr told us that I have several fibroids and the baby is ok now. Has anyone had this before( fibroids) and gone on to have a good pregancy? If you have had this is there any signs I should watch for?

please help me
thank you
longtime

Hi longtime, I just saw your message. Congrats on becoming pg. I think you are doing well to have Fibroids and was able to conceive. I am just recovering from my (3rd) Myomectomy Jan 2005, surgery to remove fibroids. My recent RE felt that having them present was too risky considering that Fibroids often times rob the baby of necessary blood supply.

I have had 2 RE's (1) GYN who all felt that my chances of conception w/ fibroids was not good. So we will see, now that they have all been removed.

Best of Luck to you!!

Hi longtime-
Congrats!

I do not have any experience with fibroids but there are ladies that have. Your OB need to follow you closely and make sure you report anything unusual ASAP!

GIve an update soon,
JenC

I had a golfball size fibroid at the top of my uterus (inside) at the time I did my DFET which resulted in triplet boys (identical twins and a faternal). The twins placenta was directly over the fibroid which was cause for concern as it would restrict blood flow to the placenta. I was watched by my OB and Peri very closely and everything eventually turned out fine...the fibroid was the least of my problems during my pg as it turned out. My boys will be 1 yr on the 30th of this month and are happy, health, energetic little boys.
