What % of companionship do you get from your pets?

Compared to your SO, what % of the companionship you receive is from your pets?


And if you want to add, does it make your SO jealous to see how much you do get from your furbabies?

My Dh is really jealous of the companionship my furbabies give me, and that which I give them.
I am the feeder, the trainer, the walker, the bather, the medical administrator of the pets, and most of their playtime is thru me.

It is no surprise they give so much to me. It was however, a surprise to see how much I go to them for companionship.
I would even bring them to work with me if I could manage off leash walking, but they are too interested in running/chasing for that.

My DH gets the most companionship from our dog! It's like I am invisible. I am the one who walks her, feeds her, takes her to the vet, plays with her etc. But she goes to DH the majority of the time. I think cause I am with her everyday and she does not see him until dinner time she goes crazy when she sees him. At bedtime she snuggles with him. She will wake up in the middle of the nite and stand on top of him to make sure he is o.k. and when we get up in the morning she lays on top of him. And she is always forever licking him. I am lucky if I get half a lick out of her. LOL! But am I jealous, not at all! She does give me attention but not as nearly as much as him. Yet she is my shadow and will follow me everywhere, where she will not do that to my DH. So I would say I get 25% and Dh gets 75%.

That is what I meant.
Of your 100% of companionship, your furbabies give you 65% and your Dh gives you 35%.
Or vise versa.

But either is fine to elaborate on.

I love PJ but he is a dog.

Yes he shows tons of affection to both of us and takes as much as we wanna give him. He actually SHOWERS Vini with affection because he feeds him people food and I don't, AND is more of a pushover (he spoils the dog rotten!)

But I could never put the two in the same category of "sources of affection" and actually compare them. A thousand kisses from my dog can't touch one from Vini!

My dh is not very romantic. I get more attention & effection from my furbabies then him. Esp my smokey. If I ever need a hug he dont mind. He is my cuddle buddy. DH dont like to cuddle.

DH knows where he ranks in the grand scheme. My furbabies are my furbabies - end of story. Luckily he loves them almost as much as I do so we share the love all around!

When DH is away (He's in the Army), my pets are my companions 100%. My pointer is very protective of me and won't let strangers come in the house when DH is away. When DH is home, its about 50/50. My pit-bull just loves my DH and will eat his dirty Army socks!! LOL
