    Registering

Who is going to register and where?

We didn't register last time but I'm thinking about registering for a few things at Target this time. Mostly to get coupons and 10% off the stuff we need to buy anyway (on the registry). If any family members buy from it, bonus.

I have already started my registry. I figure since this will be the first take home grand child on both sides (at least I think my 19 year old sister has not talked to us in over a year) that there is going to be a bit of excitement around this baby.

I register with www.myregistry.com . I am EXTREAMELY picky (if you haven't got that from my prior posts) and because of this I perfer the flexablity that this registry provides. Also anyone that would be using the registry would be doing so from far away. Our closest relative lives in Florida and is my mother... wait technically her ex-husband is closer but he still lives in Florida. I call him my dad #2. Everyone else is in Washington and Oregon. We do have a few friends around here but I don't expect anything from them.

I will be posting a link to the registry on my blog but I am waiting till I get past 24 weeks to do so. In the meanwhile when I think of something I need I just look it up online and register for it.

    Have fun registering!

I don't think I am registering this time around since there is not much stuff that we need (except boy clothes and some other odds and ends) and we are not having a shower since it is the second baby (at least I don't think we are). For DD, I registered at both BRU and Target. Most of my big stuff was from BRU but it was good to have a few less expensive items (mainly $25 and under) at another store that was more accessible to more people. Just advice for you first-timers, BRU is excellent about returns (even without a receipt) but Target is a PITA when it comes to them (especially since you will find that a lot of people won't include gift receipts). Also from my experience, minimize registering for things like blankets, towels, bibs, burp clothes, etc. Most people buy these things for you from what they choose on their own (not your registery) or you don't get them at all so you have to buy them yourself anyway. Happy registering to you all! It is so much fun to walk around the store and shoot everything you want with the price gun. I am bad so it was also fun for me to keep checking my online registery for the things that I got!

I'm not registering either. It's my second so I don't feel like I should get a shower (but, please don't think I'm judging anyone who has a shower for their second, third, etc.). However, having said that, I know my cousin and friend are going to throw me a shower. Which is fine (very nice of them). I would just feel weird if I registered. We really only need clothes anyway.

Have fun registering, it's really fun to do it!

i'm in canada and the best deals are at Wal-mart so that's where we have started. it's easy for everyone to access and i hate making people spend crazy amounts of money. we are also going to do some items at toys r us that we couldn't find at wal-mart. I really don't have a lot of options where i live, but i found things i really like there. The girls at work made us go register already, i think so they can start preparing for my work shower. I actually got in trouble for buying too much already cause i'm not leaving people much to buy. lol
yay. just felt more kicks on the outside, only my 3rd time. lovin it!!!

We're not having a shower, etc this time around so there is no real reason to register but we did at Target because we got a coupon that said if you register you got a $20 (I think that's the amt) gift card. So, basically, we did it just for that...and to kinda keep track of what all we needed/wanted. What's the 10% off deal there?? I would love to take advantage of that as we're planning on getting the stroller/travel system and pack 'n play from there.

I feel I should add that I don't have a shower either. I didn't have one with my triplets (obvious there) nor do I believe I will have one with this child. I only register for gifts to keep track of the things I want (and we will purchase) or if someone really wants to get us something since I am in general hard to buy for.

LMAO!!!! She deserves at least one frilly girlie frock. I'm sure the MD "aunts" will make sure she's well-dressed. You may have to get some clothes for her since she's a different season baby.

I was paranoid about jinxing things the first time around, I guess. That, and I never felt well enough to tolerate being in Target long enough to register. Don't feel too bad for me though. I had 3 showers and got lots of great stuff. We just had to buy the big things and the little oddball things. Plus we got some decent hand-me-downs.

From what I understood last time / after the fact, is that whatever you have left to buy on your registry, you got 10% off. Maybe that's no longer available? Maybe the $20 coupon replaced it. Where did you get that? I was waiting till the u/s and then was going to register. We need a crib mattress, crib, possibly a PnP and a couple more crib sheets, baby book, and then the consumables (diapers, wipes, Diaper Genie refills, possibly formula). If nothing else, I hope they still send baby coupons.

SIL asked if we'd like another shower. (She threw us one last time.) I can't really justify the need for one as we already have boy and girl stuff and the baby will be the same season.

Honestly, I don't know how I got it. I started getting these baby catalogs from Target and Walmart and the Target one had what looked like a gift card attached to it (on the back, I think), but it didn't work until you went and registered and they scanned it. I am assuming that when I started filling out all of those little postcard things from Enfamil, Huggies, and Pampers, etc that you get from magazines and doc. handouts that it somehow got me on these catalog lists too You could probably just go in and ask them for it or request a baby catalog.
