Nuchal scan...

Hey everyone... I am so happy... Our nuchal test came back... "better than good, excellent!" So we are so happy. We are going to do the blood test, and then have another u/s at 12 weeks. I can't wait.
They took a guess on the sex (only because i asked) and it was a girl!!!!
I am just so thrilled about the nuchal scan. So thrilled.

Glad to hear everything went well with your scan!! I can't wait to get mine and hope it turns out as good as everyone else's has. I can't believe they could see the sex already they would'nt even attempt to guess for me which sucked my babies leggs were wide open and the tech said that all babies at that stage have a point in the tailbone so she wouldnt even try to guess. I go back next wednesday so Ill be 13 weeks and 1 day so maybe they can see something this time. I really really want a girl we have Zachary and bf has a 5 year old son from previous relationship so we need some more women in our family. Glad everything went well for you I have been wondering. Congrats on a girl!!

I am so glad your scan went well! Our Peri. also guessed a girl, but the u/s tech at my OB cautioned me to not take heed. She looked again and said that she did not see a labia or a clitoris. She said "I see a bump, and it could be ANYTHING". She said that the early determinations are still 50/50 UNLESS they see labia or penis/scrotum.

I don't want to bring you down. We were actually encouraged that the U/S tech was so candid with us. She said she has just seen the nuchal scan gender predictions be wrong, that she doesn't trust them.

That being said, I am STILL going to have teh Peri. look AGAIN when I go Thursday. I am curious as to what he thinks.

At thsi point it is just fun. With my son Tucker, I was told at 18 weeks he was a girl. They howed me the "hamburger" signa nd everything. At 36 week u/s (he was breech), my docotor checked again and said "uh-oh". So, a boy he always was. I guess he was just a late bloomer! So, I am scared of u/s predicitons UNLESS they see all the parts. I will believe boy before girl.

I am sorry, I have ranted on and on.

I am so glad you pregnancy is going well! Sounds great! Do you have names chosen yet?

Hey there,
Yes I know it's just a guess... I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch... Or in this case before the baby comes! Hee hee....
I'm just really excited mainly because the nuchal scan came back good.
I have a name for a girl chosen, but having a hard time with boy names.

Early congrats on the girl too! It will be interesting to see how many of the early u/s predictions are correct. Our doc guessed a boy for us.
