Maternity Clothes Anyone?

I have come the conclusion, this the first day of my 12th week, that I need some maternity clothing. I start water aerobics tomorrow night so the first item on my list was a bathing suit. Last night I tried on last year's suit and let me tell you, it wasn't pretty. All DH could say was RRRRiiiiiggghhhhtt. So I went in to Target over my lunch break to pick one up. I vowed to myself that I wasn't going to spend a lot of money. I ended up buying a huge black tent with granny panties to go underneath. Where in the world do you find cute maternity bathing suits?

Has anyone else started wearing maternity clothes and where did you go? I definitely need some help! Thanks!

VERY VERY FUNNY - you had me cracking up. Same problem here,,, my friend gave me some maternity - not cute yet but very comfortable.
Try Old Navy, they had decent swimsuits I saw the ones in Target and thought the same thing "TENT"

I got some practical stuff from old navy (like sweat pants, a few camis). I bought some jeans from gap. I got a few shirts from Mimi Maternity. I had the best luck at H & M. The clothes are adorable, and are really reasonably priced. I got these cute white linen pants that are so comfy and stylish.....LOVE them!
for bathing suits, I would do either gap or old navy as Shan suggested.

So far I've bought all mine from Old Navy this time. Some of Target's stuff is cute.

I have to say, last time I didn't get a maternity suit. I just used my regular suit. I have a really long torso so my one piece suits were generally rather loose because I had to buy them larger to reach the full length of my torso. It stretched out fine. This past year I got a tankini which I *dont* think I will be wearing. I think I'll try getting a big one piece again (non maternity).

Hi there. I know what you mean...I think even the cutest bathing suit isn't really that cute when it's huge, know what I mean? But, at least we're preggo and cute... :-)

Anyway, I have already bought a bunch of maternity clothes because I wanted to have them for the day that I just couldn't do regular clothing anymore. I bought like 5 T shirts from Target I got a couple of shirts and capris at the gap, JC penny has some cute tank tops, and then I got some capris at Old Navy. I feel stocked up for now. It sure is going to be a hot one this summer. When I was PG with DS, it was cold, so all of my cute winter maternity clothing is out, bummer.

We should inform each other about sales...

Good Luck!
Happy Shopping!!

Kate

I'm just digging into my old stuff. I sure hate to spend money on maternity stuff!! I'm totally into wearing it though. I think I'll just wear maternity for the rest of my life. It's all so soft and comfy!

mother hood maternity has great cute bathing suits. Their prices seem pretty reasonable. I htink I may have to switch over soon> I have one pair of regular pants that I can still wear, and by the end of the day they are unbuttoned. Do you think it's rude to ask a friend who just had her second to pass on any maternity stuff?

Shell,
I think as long as it is a good friend, she will not mind if you ask. Especially, if you tell her you will give it back to her when you are done. I would be happy to loan out stuff to my friends when I am done.

BTW.....I guess not all H & M stores have the Mama line. My friend just told me that she cannot find it anywhere.

I am almost ready to make the plunge!

All my old maternity is winter stuff, so I need a lot too!

I like H&M too! They have cute stuff. You're right, only some H&M's carry maternity.

I think I'll be making a trip to Old Navy this weekend. I wish a few more Gap stores sold maternity in the stores. I already have to return a dress I bought online.

I have 5 weddings this summer, plus rehersal dinners, and brunches, so I'm going to need quite a wardrobe!! The first wedding in May is black tie. My last pg, I didn't have one formal event.

I've just bought the basics from Old Navy. I got a pair of black and khakki pants to wear to work for $12.50 each. Really good buy b/c they are the nice thick material.
I bought some really cute jeans at Target.
I need pants right away b/c the ivf hormones made my already poochy belly a little bigger and I have a boy waist so everything was too tight in the waist and fine or big in the legs.
I haven't looked at suits yet.
I would die to have an H&M maternity section. Chicago is the closest store for me and I don't remember there being a maternity section.
I'm sure I'll make it to Motherhood Maternity in a month or two.
