We're walking!

So we finally saw him take two steps on Sunday, and since then it's grown from 1-2 steps to 8...now if you hold out your arms, he walks to you. Not regularly, and he still loves hanging on to stuff and crawling, but he's walking. Yay!!!

And we've got a massive bruise on our forehead tonight from all these walking adventures. I know the bruises are going to come fast and furious now, but it's heart-wrenching sometimes to see them fall and hit their head on a chair leg of all things. DH wants to keep him on carpet only - that's just so unrealistic in our home, we have carpet in family room and bedrooms, but everywhere else is tile or hardwood. But he's sooo cute walking!

I have been soooo lucky with Cheyenne because she has so much balance. BUT, DS was another story. For the first few weeks he started walking (he started at 10 months), he would lose his balance, start falling backwards, get scared and arch his back, and he'd fall directly on his head. It was AWFUL, and I was sure he would end up brain damaged or something. But he found his balance pretty quickly and things got much better! Although, to this day, we still deal with falls when he's running around and not paying attention or going to fast on the linoleum.
