weekly updates 9/7/9

Nothing new to report here. How about you guys?

Going on Friday for Follow up for GD. Sugars are OK now, I guess. She is going to do another quick ultrasound to check the placental position (it was low-lying at 20 weeks).

Otherwise, feeling ok........

I don't have anything new to report, at least not anything major.

I've had quite a few people say things to me lately like, "Gee, you look like you could deliver any day!" They are shocked when I tell them I have two months left! I just tell them when I'm as short as I am, the belly has no where to go but OUT.

Baby boy has been VERY active today, and particularly so in the last few minutes. DH is in here with me and see's my belly go crazy....he says he couldn't handle it!

I have everything all set and ready for the birth. DH just has to make sure we have the right hose/connection to fill the birth pool from the water heater directly.

Happy news today...the missing parts for my crib are ordered and on their way! There was a day last week when I thought we wouldn't be able to get them and I was quite down about it (a friend gave us the crib and changing table which aren't even 4 years old, and she didn't realize some of the vital pieces for the side rail tracks were missing). I told the guy at the crib company he made my day!

My first of two baby showers is this weekend! I'm very excited!

Nothing new here either. OB appt this afternoon, my first of the two week appts. I don't expect anything out of the ordinary but I'll update if so.

I have to remember to take my DH's FMLA papers to the Dr today. His job is such that once he arrives at work, he can't leave until a replacement gets there. No one ever comes in for you no matter what the emergency is. This time, I decided that he was taking the month of November off to make sure he is there for the birth. This way he'll also be home to do some stuff with our boys so they don't get bored.

Anyway, I need to stop dragging my feet about starting the boys' schoolwork for today. We have plenty to do. Good Luck ladies! We made it another week!

Started back at work yesterday...500 elementary school kids and their parents...I'm so exhausted. How do you all keep going when you have other kids at home to take care of and are pregnant?

I was so nervous about starting back at work after being able to relax all summer. Luckily my placenta has been cooperative so far and no bleeding!

My 32 week OB appointment is on Friday. Hopefully there will nothing new to report after that and we'll just keep counting down the days until we meet our daughter! (Never thought I'd be able to say that! I'm so excited!)

I failed my 1 hr glucose and have to do the 3 hr fasting thing on Monday. SO NOT happy about that. No food for almost 12 hours is torture!!! I have also developed pregnancy induced carpel tunnel. So I am now in splints on both arms. Other than that I am hanging in and doing ok. So far the plan is still to admit to the hospital at 32 weeks and deliver at 34 weeks. I have gained 33 lbs. I guess that's not too bad for 28 weeks with triplets.

you are doing so great carrying triplets! Every time I complain about my aches and pains carrying a singleton, I think of those of you who are pregnancy with multiples and it puts it all in perspective!

oh goodness! I have one baby and I've gained 40 pounds already!! I had my appointment today but I had such a horrible headache I could hardly focus to ask him questions, so I thought I'd ask some of them here to see what you all think?!?

1. I'm having trouble emptying my bladder all of a sudden... I go pee and then it just stops... if I sit and wait just a tad more comes, and I'm back in the bathroom before I know it... also getting up every hour and a half to 2 hours! at night now b/c of this!! I tried leaning forward and lifting my belly.. I read that somewhere, but still no luck. : (

2. The baby started kicking me super hard down low... it feels like a sharp stabbing pain, then she stops and it feels better. it just scares me!

3. What to do about the flu shot?!? The doctor told me that I should get it but I didn't realize that there are 2 shots out and I'm not sure which one he was talking about? the regular flu and the swine flu shot coming later?? What are you all doing about this??? I have 7 weeks to go.. 2 kids in school, and I will be volunteering in school this month and maybe next!! lots of exposure. but really if I get the shot and the kids don't??? is it worth it?

I can totally relate about the bladder thing. There are times when I really do have to go and it feels relatively normal...then there are times where it feels like I really need to go but then I sit there and sit there.... and either nothing will happen, or only a slight trickle after waiting for several minutes. Its very annoying! I think it has to do with how the baby is sitting/lying at the moment.

I haven't felt too many of those sharp twinges down low yet, but I remember them!

I'm not planning on a flu shot (of either kind) now or after the baby comes. I just don't trust it.

flu shot

There are going to be 2 kinds of flu shots this year. The one available now is the regular one - the H1N1 is going to be out later. The recommendation is people at risk get both....(pregnant females, people who would have a baby less than 6 months of age at their home during the flu season, and i think people with chronic medical conditions)

The shots are supposed to prevent you from developing or help with developing a milder form of disease even if exposed to either flu.

I dont like flu shots and usually dont get them, but this year, I am worried......

Not much going on over here. Babies are measuring about 4lbs each and we're hoping that they are between 5-6 at delivery. Maybe I'll even get them past 6 lbs...we'll see. I'm doing okay, but am really having some tough days physically. I'm just so tired and it's getting really tough some days to do what I need to do. The wierd thing is that I'll have days in between that are great, so it's pretty hit and miss.

We also found out last week that all 3 car seats don't fit in our SUV. We thought they would and waited too long to actually check. So we're now in a mad dash to buy a new car before the babies come.

I went to Target the other night (by myself... no 2 yr. old in tow). It ws so nice to shop without her! I had a lot of things to get and walk so slow that she would have been a nightmare. Anyway I stocked up on things I thought I may need for myself and babies after delivery...pads, gas drops, squirt bottle, (forgot Tucks). I also bought a few things for the babies and the things I thought I would need for my hospital bag like little shampoos and stuff. The best part was buying new PJ"s and slippers for hospital and home afterwards. I love PJ's and loungewear and am sooo looking forward to wearing the non-maternity version. I can actually wear the pants now, but the shirt is crazy tight. I'm hoping it will fit fine after the babies are out. I've only gained 15 lbs now (I've lost weight every week for the last four weeks) and am thinking I should be coming out of this okay. I will probably take a couple of my maternity T-shirts just in case.

Just about 3-4 more weeks to go.
