I'm sick!

This is no fun! I've been feeling a little off for the last couple of days but last night it hit full force. Sore throat, stuffy nose and head congestion. In a way I'm relieved because I was starting to worry that I was just feeling off because I'm huge and due soon. I thought maybe I would feel like that for the duration. So even though I feel terrible at least I know it should get better in a week or so. For now I just need to try and get as much rest as possible...haha...that's not easy with a little one running around. I think we'll be having a lot of TV for the next few days.

I'm dealing with the same thing right now Sam. I hope you feel better soon. Mine is starting to lift. My head congestion went to chest congestion. I sounded like someone who has been smoking 2 packs a day for 30 years. And everytime I coughed or sneezed, I peed my pants. My DH thought that was hilarious. I finally had to bring out the big guns and take some mucinex. It's the only thing I can ever get to break up that really awful thick congestion. Good luck. Mine started on Saturday. With the exception of my cough, I feel 90% better today. There is a light at the end of the tunnel!

Oh man, I can relate. We've had "stuff" in our house off and on for a couple weeks and frankly, I wish it would leave! It seems we went for like 6 months with hardly anything and now its all hitting at the end of summer. Weird. I hope you feel better! You probably need the rest anyway right now, eh?

Thanks everyone. I'm actually feeling a bit better this afternoon. Maybe yesterday was the worst of it. It probably helped that I drank a ton of water yesterday and got some extra sleep. Told the dr. today about my complaints and he said to see my primary care doctor if it doesn't get better in a few days.

I'm 30 and a half weeks and my dr. says he delivers twins at 36 weeks so I've got about 6 weeks to go. Not too long, but it kind of feels a long way off still. Cervix is holding strong. No baby measurements until next week.

wow! that's coming up fast! I am not far behind you.. I'm HOPING to be induced on the 26th or 27th of October.. but we'll see... I'm glad your feeling better. Being sick on top of being pregnant is the worst! mostly b/c you can't take the meds you might normally!

hope everyone is feeling better. I had been "stuffy" a few weeks back, but it cleared up out of the blue.

I've been curious about that...is there a particular reason they won't "let" you go longer than 36 weeks? I have a friend who had two sets of twins (five years apart) and I believe she was 37-38 weeks with both sets and both were c-sections.

Not sure really. I think they just start to worry about deterioration of the placenta and abruptions once you get past a certain point. Origionally I was thinking about talking to him and trying to go a little longer, but honestly I'm not sure I have the drive to push through any further than that. The last couple of weeks have gotten pretty tough. It's very difficult to eat these days and breathing is getting harder all the time. The thing is that I'm 36 weeks on a Monday and as long as the dr.'s schedule permits I would prefer not to deliver until a Thursday or Friday so I would be closer to 37 weeks anyway.
