What are you drinking?

I'm a HUGE fan of ice tea. Of course the stuff I drink is loaded with caffeine. I have cut it back to 1 caffeinated drink a day, although sometimes I slip and have 2. I still need a bit of caffeine or I get withdrawl headaches.

What are some good things to drink? I was never a water drinker, although I've been drinking more lately. I need something with some flavor though. I've been drinking gatorade, propel, hawaiian punch, ginger ale, but nothing quenches my thirst like that darn ice tea! Any other suggestions?

I've been drinking water, Sprite, Mug Root Beer (which IS caffeine free), and Kool-Aid Jammers. I used to always drink iced tea... I had to find something different to drink at restaurants. What a bummer. I'm really looking forward to when I can have it again.

Fellow Ice Tea'ers

I am with ya....I am a caffeine girl. I would drink at least 2 -3 cups of coffee a day. Ice Tea, Root Beer, Dr. Pepper are all favourites all though I don't drink them daily.

All of that is gone I stopped caffeine after transfer. Just because I got viciously ill from it that day. Also, the smell of coffee now makes me want to you know what!!!!

So, I know drink...carbonated water with fresh squeezed lemon or lime and a few ice cubes. It is awesome. My personal favourite is Perrier the lemon or lime one. Also, ginger ale but I can't handle the sugar so, I dilute it with the carbonated water.
I was drinking V-8 until this week but with the M/S increase I can't stomache it.

Next......

Hi --

I drink a lot of kool-aid -- however, I can't decide if it's better to drink the sugar version or to drink the sugar-free version with the artifical sweetener. I'll have to ask the next time I got to RE. I also drink light Minute Maid lemonade in a can -- I have to water it down sometimes but it's not too sweet.

I do admit to drinking a can of Mountain Dew each day, too, because it calms my stomach down slightly. I'm not a coffee drinker or a chocolate eater so I figure one can is OK.

I cut caffeine out several a few months ago, when I was starting my cycle and I'm determined not to go back to it. That being said, the occasional cup of coffee or tea does not hurt. My RE also does not put any restriction on caffeine because she says there really isn't any evidence that it does any damage. Of course, she means in moderation. I'm sure the 6-8 cup a day coffee drinker could cause some issues for their little one but 1-2 cups of caffeinated drink a day isn't going to hurt. I have been drinking decaf and caf green tea for months (I think it has kept me from getting sick because every winter I get a nasty sinus infection or cold and so far, I haven't!) I also drink a ton of water with lemon juice in it. I'm drinking milk more, even though I'm not exactly fond of it, and I'm drinking alot of O.J (I try to buy the brand that has 1/2 the sugar). I had a sprite yesterday and 15 minutes later I was so bloated so guess I won't be drinking those anymore!

keleric1017, I think you are okay to keep drinking your iced tea, it has very good antioxidants in it!

I drink mostly water now, although it's been a chore since I'm not really a water drinker. But with ice and sometimes a little lemon, I'm getting used to it. I also drink naturally decaf coffee, it's the chemicals in the decaf process that scare me, I think the caffine is better if you can't find the naturally decaf kind. I drink flavored sparkling water too, but not the sweetened kind.

I'm trying very hard to stay away from the sugar drinks and the artificial sweetener, I'm already overweight to begin with, so I don't need any help in that area! Occasionally I'll have a 7-up or lemonade though.

I think trying decaf tea or water with lemon or something might help. But I'm with everyone else, one caffinated drink per day is fine.

Not to cause any alarm, but I was told by my RE not to drink any green tea (decaf or caf), and my OB said to avoid artificially sweetened drinks or anything artificially sweetened (I’ve even given up sugarless gum). I always avoid regular sodas (with all that sugar—I really don’t need those empty calories right now) So, just to be on the safe side, it’s decaf black tea, water and sparkling water for me. Boring! I do want to say that I’m not some sort of health nut/freak. I drank before PG (was even known to sneak a cig!), loved a donut for breakfast as much as the next person (although I’m not into fast food, most of it is pretty ick even when I’m not PG). But we’re PG now, I want to do as much as I can to make sure that everything is as favorable and positive as possible. I also agree with Guslisa that the process of chemically decafinating is a bit spooky,
