Still Healing - my tonsils are gonners!

Any tips from anyone who has done this - it is TRUE TORTURE! I would rather have 5 babies with no meds before I do this again! It has been a week and my ears and throat hurt worse than they did after removing the darn tonsils! I have lost 6 pounds and can only eat cream of wheat - everything else burns!!!!

Here's hoping for no more than a week of this cause I might go crazy!

yuck! DH had his removed (along with a ton of other surgery) last year and he was in pain FOREVER. DId your dr give you liquid lidocaine? That is the only thing that worked for him. Take Care!

I had mine removed when I was kid, but dont remember much. Can they give you some pain meds at least? I hope you get well soon.

Sorry that you had to go through this. I've heard that it is so much harder when you are older. I had mine removed when I was 9 or 10, so, I don't remember much except I slept with my mom for several nights due to needing water through the night and I had alot of ice cream!

I also had mine taken out when I was 9, and the only thing I remember is that they kept bribing me with ice cream. They kept telling me that I could have all the ice cream in the world and I was so excited about that. After I came out of surgery, I was in so much pain, I didnt want to have anything to do with ice cream and I dont think I ever had any after wards.

I ce cream burns for some reason - it is like everything burns the crap out of my ears! I'm starting to get nauseaus lately so I'm forcing down soggy rolls and water -yum! I keep making a list in my mind of all the foods I'm going to eat here in a few weeks!

I'm taking pain meds every 3 hours and wondering how that is effecting my overall health as well - always worrying!!!
