More Crying Night Fits?!!

Ok - So Logan had a bad weekend and I'm trying to figure out if it is still from the vaccines or what the heck?

So Friday he got 2 vacciness...had a raging fever (104 that night) and has been doing better since. He was fussy and not eating much - plus the 2 good size bumps on his thighs....other than that - totally normal during the day and happy yesterday.

The past 2 nights - he is getting up every 1-1.5 hours and not normal - he pretty much wakes up screaming and crying -- ya know like that somthing hurts cry.....what the heck???? What could it be? He has diaper rash that is getting better (cause by the fever I think).....

Have your LOs had nights where they wake up pissed ALOT and then when you hold them for a minute - lay them down they are fine for a bit longer....what caused it? HELP!!!!!! I'm kinda freaking out

Jeppy, I responded on the General Parenting board but it sounds like it could be still from the vaccines, growth spurt, teething or just wanting some comfort. Have you given him Tylenol, something for the fever and pain? I usually have to do it for 24 to 48 hrs after their vaccinations. Kyle is 7 mths old and he always woke up through the night every few nights for no apparent reason. This past weekend, he was up both nights from 2am until about 4 or so and finally broke a tooth through this morning.

I hope it gets better!

I agree with what Sherb said. If it continues again tonight, then you should contact your ped. I wish babies could talk and tell us whats wrong.

I second Sherb - have you tried giving him Tylonel? I give it to the boys for 48 hours after shots. It helps them a lot. Also if he's teething (not that we KNOW when they are and it hurts, we just have to assume!) it will help with that.

Also, if he has bad diaper rash every time he pees, even just a little, it will hurt him. The boys have had some different solids that gave them horrible diaper rash and we had a few nights like that as well.

If it keeps up for a couple more days, definitely call your doctor!

have you started solids? could it be a reaction to foods? I know Annabella gets a tummy ache when she eats green beans, and scrunches up her face, does the "gas crunch" with her tummy and cries like she is in pain too. what about teething? I know Annabella gets fussy after shots, but it usually subsides after a few hours, doesnt last more than a day here.

IMO, if its spurts of fussiness and he is comforted by your touch, personally I wouldnt give meds. I dont like to overmedicate my kids or rely on meds so if I can come up with something else that works to help them, I do. In this case, if my DD was ok with being held, rocked etc and only did that crying thing if she wasnt in my arms, I would rather just hold her til it passes (again, just my opinion)

I'm starting to wonder if Jackson is starting to get night terrors/dreams and teething. He doesn't wake up this frequently, but he does wake up and while he's screaming, his eyes aren't open--the weirdest thing.

Maybe Logan is teething and in exchange having funky dreams too. Kids not sleeping is definitely no fun!!

I bought some baby oragel in case he needs it - that is NOT fun to put in his gums...it did not seem to do anything but I will try it again at some point. Last night he was only up every 2 hours - hoping it gets better
