Article & Comments on BPA

http://www.lifescript.com/channels/h...es-ba&FromNL=1

I went to a talk by a naturapathic dr and she said that these hormones store in your fat cells and will affect women and girls at their next change of life (pubety, pg, menopause). I am trying to get rid of all our plastics, including dds sippy cups, plates and utensils - of course it is not always easy to feed a 2yo without them! I have started washing any plastics we use in the sink rather than the washer which was advice from another article I read on this subject. We never heat anything in plastic. My dh and I are not sure whether we will keep the old tupperwear for food storage and dont even know if it has BPA - anyone know how to find out? Obviously the older stuff does not have the triangle with the number in it - I have read to watch out for those labeled 7 and possibly 1 and 4 as well. I have stopped using saran wrap, esp if it might touch the food, and use tin foil instead. What else can be done?

I like the Nalgene sippy cups Kate...

AND I am with you...I am still trying to get it all out of our house.

Also...so if you heat up a plastic in the microwave that is a number 5- doesn't have bpa- is it still bad????
