One family in our ward opens up their 72 hour emergency kits and lets the kids eat anything they want out of them. Then they replenish those items and repack the kits. It keeps the food reasonably fresh that way, doing it twice a year.

Another mom I knew used to let her (now in his 40s!) son spread a blanket in front of the TV and dump out his Lego bricks to play with during Conference. She didn't have much room in her place, so it was a rare treat to do that. I've been thinking about doing that with my girls. They always have access to the Lego bricks, but haven't played with them in awhile. I know when my hands are occupied I pay better attention, so maybe that would help them a little.

Any other ideas? I want Conference time to be a good memory for my children when they are older.
