update on me and baby Z
Hey ladies so I am in the hospital.......on Monday I started having cramps didn't think to much about them on Tuesday they had gotten more moderate I had a appointment with the High Risk Dr that morning so I decided I would talk to him about it he did a u/s the placenta is still low lying he also said I have high amniotic fluid and the baby kidney was alittle enlarged but he did say he was not to concerned about it b/c he sees it alot in lil boys plus the same thing happened with my dd and all was fine so I will TRY not to stress about that. Anyway he monitored me and I had some irregular contractions so he told me if they get worse go to hospital and he basically put me on bedrest. Got home layed down about 2 hours later the contractions started to come in a pattern after another hour they were every two min so my dh rushed me to the hospital they gave me two shots of trubutaline(sp) and started magnesium couldn't stop them so they had the ambulance on post rush me to the hospital off post b/c the hospital on post has no nicu. After 2 days of mag(OMG that stuff made me sooooooooooo sick plus you can't eat and only drink water while taking it) they were able to also give the steriod shots for the babies lungs they got the contractions spaced out to about 2-3 an hour. I am currently off the mag and hopefully will be discharged tomorrow. I am sure I will be put on strict bed rest until delivery which they are hoping want happen until 36w. I will update more later.

Oh my goodness, Michelle! Are you still on terb. or at least have some with you to take if they start back? I didn't have to have mag. but I was on terb. for 5 weeks with #2. If has some nasty side effects (nothing compared to mag, though) but it did work for me and was so worth it. Keep those feet up! Prayers coming!

Michelle,
You both are in my prayers! I'm sorry that the mag sulfate was such a drag. You are not the only one I have heard this from. I am pleased to hear that they were able to get your contractions under some control though. Keep us posted! Ailese |
