ITS A GIRL!!!!!

We had our second OB visit (18w) and the anatomical scan yesterday. Everything looks perfect and we even got to count all the toes and fingers. Next OB appt in a month. I started to feel her move late last week and now am able to recognize the little kicks. Still have only gained 2 lbs but OB said since I had a little extra to start, I should only gain 10-15 lbs total so not to worry.

Only bad thing is they said probably no more ultrasounds unless there is a problem. I'm so addicted to the ultrasounds. Its gonna be hard to live without. Although my DH has a friend who is a sonographer and we may have to sneak over and pay him a visit or two.

I hope everyone else is feeling well and having healthy, happy pregnancies too!

Aw, Congratulations! And I'm totally jealous that you may have way to get some extra u/s on the side - and I'm not even pregnant!

So I went into the ER yesterday. I've been cramping a little and thought I saw a splotch of blood. I've kind of been freaking out after what happened w/ Bel. It really shook me up realizing everything could be going great one minute and then something awful could happen.

So I went in, and everything was fine. Saw the babies and they were measuring right along. Both had good strong heartbeats of 170. Only thing, I got an intern who had no idea how to work a speculum.. I'm now cramping from the exam.

Had OB orientation today. What to expect, numbers to call and bloodwork. Have ultrasound and first OB provider appointment in two weeks.

Other than that, still sick sick sick...

How are you ladies doing?

Angela .. congrats on your girl!! and on that low weight gain .. awesome!! Definitely sneak over and get your extra sonograms - the amount of time I've spent in Bethesda's FAU having U/S is what's kept me sane this entire pregnancy!!

Kim .. sorry about your scare and the M/S, but happy that you got a chance to take a peek at your little peanuts again!! Are you and your hubby settled out on orders yet? I know me and mine have started the slow freak out since we are both deployable at our next duty station. Should be interesting!!!

Gagirl .. I had those dratted headaches the entire first trimester and part of the second; they suck. You can take Tylenol .. and trust me, take it!! Your sanity depends on it!!

***

As for me .. 3 more weeks left! Macaroni is under STRICT orders to STAY PUT until I am admitted on April 9th (I will be admitted and induced if she doesn't show up earlier than that). I can't fit her into my schedule right now; way too much going on at work, etc, .. people flying in to town, son going on spring break. If this baby shows up early she wil throw my entire chi off!

I am 100% trying for the VBAC; we will see how that goes. Sugar has been fine though it's a bit shiesty right now .. shoots up and down no matter what I eat. I assume that's based on how far along I am now. The good news is that my weight has held steady; looks like I'll have 35 lbs to lose when this is all said and done blech!

I have my maternity photo shoot tomorrow so I've been having all my maintenance done .. got waxed front and back last weekend (and trust me - I've done it twice during this pregnancy and I'd do it again. When you can't see your darn bikini line and you can't reach your legs .. I'll just leave it at that!!!! ), hair cut and colored tuesday, getting my nails did today, and hair/makeup tomorrow for photos at 1300. I just hope they turn out ok!!

Well, they extended me here until next Spring/Summer. Got a call from the nurse coordinator and Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, and they've got me hooked up with an OB Doc who's going to be the only person I see throughout my pregnancy. I was pretty impressed that they went the extra mile to look at my history and pair me up with someone who agreed to accept me exclusively.

Go girl w/ the waxing. I used to get it done monthly when I lived in California. They look at you kind of funny around here when you ask for the "Full Monty"...

VERY NICE! Every time I feel like giving up on military medicine, they do something like that that's great! I've been really happy with my experience at Bethesda; complete 180 from the crap I dealt with at Balboa with my first.

That's great that they extended you; I was originally supposed to leave here in JAN10, but extended through JUN10 to get DS through 2nd grade .. we found out a bit ago that DH is leaving to head to War College now in JAN10. So, I've had to double up my classes for my masters to finish this winter because no way am I going to be on my own with two kiddos and night classes for 6 months I head to Department Head School in JUN10 and back to a ship likely around JAN11, which is when DH starts his XO ride, so it should be interesting ............................. if we end up back in San Diego, everything should go well though - was there from like 1996 - 2007 .. love it there!

Kim, I'm glad you went in to be checked and that everything was fine. Sure wish the m/s would let up for you. Sweet that they extended you and got you set up with one provider.

Gagirl, glad to hear everything is going great. Well, except those darn headaches, wish those would go away!

Arrgee, I bet the sugars are because of how far along you are, too. I hope Macaroni goes along with your plans, but it'll be the best disruption ever if she doesn't. Good thoughts coming for the VBAC. How many hours of classes are you going to be carrying?
