Hi Girls! I just wanted to stop by and say Ekkkk! lol! It's getting so close! I found out my base line appointment is on the 11th, so it looks like I'm in the 1st group. God works in mysterious and wonderful ways. When I first joined this site I talked out my stress level at work and my concerns about that. I'm thanking God for the lateral move I just made to a much more peaceful position. It came just in time and will certainly help! I would love to meet up with you ladies while I'm in SA. Send me a message and we'll definitely get together. I know April is "Fiesta" month, so I'd be interested in partaking in some of the activities while there. Also, if there's anyone else in the first group that isn't afraid of needles and willing to help me with my shots, I'll love you forever! Heck, even if you're local and not squeamish, I'd love your help.I'm going to be in SA by myself the entire time, except for when the hubby HAS to be there for ER, and I'm really nervous about the shots. Blah! Anyway, now that it's getting closer, I'm going to try to come here more often to talk to you guys. I'm off to watch my daughter's track meet! Talk to you soon!

txrn34 - Lots of prayers for you.
LittleOleMe30 - the needles for the shots you have to get are as tinny as the head of a safety pin. I didn't feel them 99% of the time. The Trigger shot you will definately need help with help being that your DH will be there. You will have to teach home or bring him back to the clinic and have Nurse K teach you.
GL To all of you ladies

Hi Patient-One! Congrats on your ultrasound results. Twins?! That's awesome! Thanks for the reassurance. I can deal with a tiny, baby needle, like the kind they use to prick your finger with. I don't like the ones used for giving shots, the long needles freak me out. I don't know why I've developed this irrational fear, but over the years its gotten worse. I think its the anticipation and the unknown that's the worse. But on the upside, I'm super excited to get this started and hopefully having a bouncing baby within the year! How are you feeling?

I tried the BAMC and WH F house and no availablity. I'm working with both right now for other options. My two options right now are Lackland on base lodge($30-40/a night). or the BAMC F house can get me in at Quality Inn near BAMC for like $45 a night. I'm so bummed about this. I'm really worried about how much I'm going to end up paying in hotel fees in May when i have to stay for 14-21 days, plus all the trips prior to that!

Want to offer anyone a room at our house.
Hey guys, sorry again I have been out of the loop. My husband was hit by a car on his motorcycle 2 weeks ago so we have been going crazy. He is ok just broke his foot and caused a lot of damage. Anyhoo, I have noticed many of y'all from out of town are having difficulty finding a place to stay. My husband and I discussed it and we have plenty of room at our house. We live off post about 20 min from BAMC. We have plenty of room for about 3 couples. I am also in the April cycle, yay getting so close we are just ecstatic about April. We just paid a few days ago and it does make you realize this is really happening. Please anyone who needs a place free of charge. You are welcome to stay here. I will include my cellphone number just give me a call 2545541123

Txrn34, I've looked into stay at an extended stay place such as Value Place. It was something like $200 a week. BUT its not a hotel, meaning no daily bed making, you have to take out your own trash, and they have a kitchen with a refrigerator but you have to provide your own cooking utilities. I'm okay with doing all that and for the price you can't beat it, just wanted to throw out the draw backs.

Hi ladies, I was really hoping I could join this thread. We have been on the April 2012 IVF wait list and on the August 2012 IVF list. We received a phone call Friday afternoon from Dr. King himself letting us know that if we still want the spot that opened up was ours if we still wanted it! My husband and I are in total shock because we were convinced that there was no way we were going to make it on the April 2012 cycle. I actually had my blood work and ultrasound Friday morning for our IUI cycle that had little hope of working. Anyways I'm so excited to be getting this opportunity
I have to call Kristin Monday morning to let her know and get the payment info and contracts.

I was able to get into PCS lodging at Lackland with help from the F house. It's getting closer to my surgery day.I have my pre-op at the end of the week then my surgery in the following days. I have so many mixed emotions. Hope I will heal in enough time for the cycle. Anyone else in the last group? Thanks for all the prayers i'll definately need them!!

Txrn34: I think I'm either in the 3rd or 4th group. Since we just got into the April Cycle Kristin wasn't sure but she said she thought we were in one of the last groups. Do you know what dates the 3rd and 4th group are? If you don't mind me asking what surgery are you having done? I had a hysteroscopy done on 2/13 and they cleared me for everything 4 weeks later.
Have the local ladies met up or anything? I'm really looking for some support or friends who are going through the same thing. We don't know anyone who has gone through IVF before so it's all very new to us.

@ Ashleylynn – Oh no, I hope your husband has a speedy recovery. SA is one of the craziest places to drive a car, let alone a motorcycle. We were thinking the same thing about lodging and have an extra room if anyone is in a bind.
@Hoping2be – Congrats!!! I really hope it works out for you with the April cycle. If not time will fly by and Aug will be here before you know it! We were in a similar situation and had written off IVF. Out of the blue the clinic called and asked if we wanted to be in the April cycle. I about drove off the road I was crying so hard. I’m glad they have the program back on schedule. Good luck to you & keep us posted!
@txrn34 – I was thinking about you, glad you found lodging and the F House worked with you to make it happen. The offer still stands, if you need support and a friendly face let me know and I’ll come visit you after your surgery. I can even bring you a couple of home cooked meals, anything you need, don’t be afraid to ask. Sending you lots of positive thoughts.
@littleoleme30 – were you able to get her email address? Congrats on the 1st week group!!! So excited for you! Let me know if you need anything while you’re in town. I can help you with your shots. It might help me get ready for ours the following week! I have a little experience with giving shots, our 16 year old dog was a diabetic, and we gave him insulin shots twice a day for two years. I’m thinking it will be sorta similar, but I’m sure there’s a big difference when you are giving yourself the shots. I found a few helpful videos on youtube that show how to do the shots. Let me know and I’ll be there.
AFU (as of us) –I’ve been on the BCP and counting the days. I had an pelvic ultrasound last week and everything looked good! We were a little scared because a CT scan (to rule out kidney stones) showed my left ovary as enlarged, but no kidney stones
. I tried to explain to my primary doc that I did a Clomid test two weeks prior to the CT. He wanted an US just to be safe. Talk about freaking out. My mind was playing tricks on me and I was afraid it would interfere with our April cycle. Luckily my ovary, after my recent cycle, returned to normal and I passed the follicles/cysts that had developed due to the Clomid. Phewww! The mind is a funny thing. My husband kept telling me it was no big deal. I guess I should start listening to him more often.
Everyone take care! Sending lots of positive thoughts!
