I hope everyone's week is going well. It is so exciting that people are starting their cycles! I'm anxious to hear about everyone's experiences.
Hope LilOleMe had a great baseline Appt!
Is anyone reading anything interesting to pass the time???

Besides textbooks and academic journals, I just finished the Hunger Game triology and started the Game of Thrones. I haven't seen the tv series, but everyone says it's great, so I thought I'd give the books a try. I'm also planning to go thru all of my foodie/cooking magazines to organize recipes during my 2WW. What are you reading?!

Hi Mel & Hoping2be! My baseline appt was actually today, along with the medicine class this afternoon. Talk about a looooong day! I'm just glad I'm home and can relax now. We had a last minute change of plans, so I'm not staying in San Antonio just yet. I talked to the clinic and they were okay with us driving up for the baseline appt & class today, then starting my stay next week. The clinic is trying to better streamline the pharmacy/lab/sono on baseline day, so instead of doing labs/pharmacy/sono they are trying the order of ER pharmacy/lab/sono. We were in and out by 0730, so I'd say it was a success! Of course, that left us with ALOT of free time before the class. We made the best of it and went to breakfast, then did some shopping.

Unfortunately during my sonogram it was discovered that I had a few findings that could pose as an issue (endo/cysts). The Dr. wasn't sure if these findings were going to cause a problem, so we had to wait until he could look at my bloodwork from this morning (to see if these cysts were secreting estrogen and to make sure everything was "quiet in there"). Thankfully these cysts/endo don't appear to be causing any issues right now and I'm going to get to continue with the cycle. Yay! The medicine class was very informative and my hubby had a lot of fun practicing doing the injections. Too much fun if you ask me! Ha! Oh, and I'm going to be doing the Ganirelix protocol.
I'm was nervous all day thinking that the doc was going to come back and say "sorry, its a no go this cycle". I've decided to try not worry about the outcome anymore because the reality is, at the end of the day, I have no control over it. The doctors have no control over it. All I can do is keep trucking along and hope that it all works out. I think I needed a perspective change, just in time too! So, there my update. Sorry its so long.

Is anyone stiming yet?
My husband isnt excited about giving me injections. Hes affraid he will mess up! I told him that they teach him.
Littleoleme: I have pcos and had a tiny endo lesion and well i had polyps. It will be interesting to see my sono since i had the polyps and endo removed and ive been on continuous bcp since march to help with my cyst and polyps. Im taking estrogen this month. So im curious if we might have a similar protocol. I dont go until may though.

LilOleMe - Thank you for posting about your baseline appt. It is extremely helpful and calms my nerves about ours next week. I'm glad they got you in and out, but that is a long day. I bet it was really stressful to find endo/cysts, but I am so glad every worked out for your IVF cycle. I love your attitude and I'm keeping a similar mantra, you can't control the outcome...only hope for positive results. I laughed about your husband having too much fun, I can see my hubby doing the same. I'll try not to be too moody a couple of days before our appt, so he doesn't have more reason to enjoy practicing.
Glad you got to go home for the week. There's no place like home. When you are in town next, let us know. There's three of us gals that have been getting together for lunches, and we would love to meet you! Did your cycle dates change? That would be awesome if we were starting our cycle together next week. Keep us posted on how you are doing and what the injections are like. Don't forget the ice packs, I hear it really helps before the injections. Were you able to meet some of the other couples in the medicine class? Are some of them staying at the FH? Take care!

Txrn - I start stims a week from this Sat. My hubby has similar fears, but I keep telling him with practice he'll become a pro. When I start the process and injections, I promise to give you the scoop.

Mel0107: Right now I'm reading the Hunger games- book 1, my yoga book, my dog training books, and I think it's called the Good Squad or something like that for a book club that I'm a part of. I'm also going through all of my old cook books that I've collected over the years.
LittleOleMe30: I'm glad your baseline and medicine class went well. I'm following you closely since you're the first of us to get started! I'm so sorry about the endo/cysts. I would have been thinking the same thing. I'm also adopted a mantra similar to yours. We can only control so much, the rest is going to happen the way it's supposed to. I think you definitely have things in perspective. When do you start stimming? When is your next ultrasound/blood work
What are you doing to pass the time? I'm having difficulty so I'm trying to find out what everyone else is doing to get through this busy/frustrating/anxiety provoking time.
txrn34: Not stimming yet....sadly! I wish I was. I had a dream last night that I was....does that count?! Ha! My husband is SO excited to give me injections. It's actually a little scary that he is so excited about it. Although it does mean that he's feeling very confident...so that's a good thing!
AFM, my husband came home yesterday with an army bib. It was so cute. It even said Army Recruit on it. I almost started crying. Then when we were laying in bed that night I was saying that this bib was the very FIRST baby thing we've bought for us....EVER! So I was all happy and sentimental when I went to bed but when I woke up I was freaking out that we jinxed ourselves. It's probably a stupid thought....but it just popped into my mind. Either way, the bib is now laying out on our dresser to keep me positive and my eyes on the prize! On another note, I start my acupuncture tomorrow. I'm really excited to see how it goes. I hope it's relaxing and peaceful. We shall see......
How has everyone else's week gone?

I start stiming on Saturday. I need to call the clinic tomorrow to ask about the evening shot because it looks like the pharmacy only gave me enough for 3 days. I have my next appointment on Wednesday. I took my last BC pill on Monday night. I haven't started spotting yet, maybe tomorrow? I've been keeping busy with stuff around the house. My husband is leaving out of town on Monday for a week (for work), so I've been busy getting everything in order here before I leave for San Antonio for the rest of the cycle. My mom is going to come stay with our daughter while we're both gone. I need to cook and freeze some meals for them for the week. Do you have any suggestions on meals that freeze well?

hoping2be - the bib is not a jinx, just claim it. I started crotching on my way to TX from MO. After the transfer I was crotching hand mitts (if that its the name of it). You need all the positive thoughts.
As for the shots, they will tell you that you should give yourself the shots other than the trigger shot they prefer someone else giving it to you. Don't let the needles scare you, either they were not as bad as they looked or my DH did an awesome job. the would massage the area he gives me the PIO shots I think that prevented me brom getting sore. One day at a time ladies and enjoy the ride. for you independent women (im independent, a Soldier and stubborn), if your DH wants to pamper you, enjoy it. You need the rest.

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to check in and let you know how its going. I started stiming yesterday and I've got to say, the shots are a piece of cake. I was so nervous about them because I don't like needles, but after seeing them in the medicine class I felt million times better. The needles are teeny tiny, and now that I'm doing the shots, I can honestly say they don't hurt. So, if you're dreading the shots like I was, I hope this helps ease your nerves some.
I drive back up to San Antonio tomorrow. Mel, I'll be calling you soon. Maybe we can do breakfast at Magnolia's Pancake Haus? As for the Fisher House, unfortunately there aren't any other couples staying there right now that are going through IVF. The house manager said she's going to have a couple come stay soon, but they won't be in the same house that I'm in. I'm bummed about this because I was really hoping to get to hang out with others going through the same cycle. There were 4 couples (including us) that had the same baseline/medicine class on Wednesday and everyone mostly kept to themselves. I'm hoping it was just nerves and as the process goes on, we'll all get to conversing while waiting to be seen.
Anyway, so that's my update. Hope you all had a relaxing weekend.
