I also received my baseline date today, it will be on January 17. It is a long day 0630 Lab, 0700-0900 US (first come, first served), medication pick up after US, 1300 medication class. The class may last 2-3 hours. Long day, but I am exited. My last BCP is 16 Jan.
I have also made my appointments with the acupuncturist, I decided to go for it. The data shows that acupuncture increases the success rate. I'd rather do it, then wonder later if I had just done it. I found two highly referred acupuncturists here in San Antonio, one is Scot Taylor owner of Balance Acupuncture and Herbs 210-479-3900 and The Texas Center for Reproductive Acupuncture 877-302-5603. both specialize in Fertility Acupuncture. I decided to go with Scot Taylor because they seem more personable on the phone, but I will keep my options open if I am not satisfied after my first visit which is scheduled for this Thursday. Also the cost was reasonable for a package of 11 treatments including the initial exam. Anyone with experience with acupuncturist in San Antonio? My options are open.

Checked my email today and there is was, my baseline appointment, I was HHHHHAAAAPPPPYYYY, now I can start planning the rest of my month. Get off time approved etc. Well I guess I'm in the last group. 26th is my DATE.
JPP_Mom2be
It's my first time doing IVF.
TTC - is hard to calculate, when nothing was being done to prevent it from happening, but we start being focused on 2 years now and after two fibroid surgery the coast is clear.
Little family history 8 kids for my mommy and now she had 13 grandbabies and I'm not a contributor so I will be happy for 2012 to be my/our year to add to the numbers. Not alot of girls I would love to be the one to add one or two to the mix of 10 boys and 3 girls.

hpy17yr - I guess you will be the first of us to go, I am very excited for you. I guess your last BCP is this Sunday. I am not sure how all these protocols work, but I am suppose to stop the day before my baseline. You seem to have a couple days in between. I don't know yet if I will be bringing my spouse. He gets very impatient and this will be a very long day. If he does not come, I will bring his ID card with me so I can pick up his Med. The pharmacy confirm that it would be ok. I also think that I will be giving myself those injections, not sure if my DH is up to it.
Patient-One - I think you may actually be part of the 3rd group, the 4th group is the last group and begings with their baseline the week of Jan 30. As far as I understand, the jan cycle extends into Feb for a Jan/Feb cycle, there are 4 groups, one group each week (1st group starting week of Jan 9th). The baseline dates are determined on the protocol and medication. They try to group the patients with about the same protocol on the same baseline date. I also understand that the docs in San Antonio always start the stim meds on Fridays or Saturdays of the baseline week. Folks coming from out of town are giving baseline dates closer to the weekend to minimize the time they have to be away from home.
kmblake, TD - Did you get your baseline date yet?
I hope to see you there.

hpy17yrwtivfx - My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Stay strong and positive.
AFM - I had my first acupuncture treatment yesterday with Scot Taylor owner of Balance Acupuncture and Herb. I had a wonderful experience. The staff was very cordial and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Scot was very king, caring, and professional. I have decided to continue this treatment with Scot for this IVF cycle.

Hello All! Welcome to the forum! I am in the 4th group...baseline on 2 Feb. I will be using the antagonist protocol. This is my 3rd fresh ivf cycle (1st successful, 2nd unsuccessful). I have not used this protocol before, but think it is a good decision.
JPP- thanks for the info about the acupuncture. I will call them tomorrow.
I am in San Antonio now for a few days. My HSG showed a couple polyps in my uterus. So I am having surgery Monday to have them removed.
Good luck to you all!

Good luck with your surgery T D. I was there a little over a month ago to remove a fibroid from the inside of my uterus. The doctors were awesome. Honestly from the time I met the team at Wilford Hall (original location) I felt comfortable and calm with them. When they told me I needed my first surgery last March I felt fine because they make you feel at ease. A little worried about missing out on time due to the anestesia but other than that I was fine.
My HSG showed the fibroid on the inside, don't how the doctor say it though, it looked like a void a shade darker than the rest of the image. Then again that's why they are the experts.
I am excited for this to all happen, I have been patient thus far and over the pass two years I've learned not to worry about the unexpected and to be a person who loves details I am doing pretty good. My DH says for me to "claim it" so that's what I'm doing, but in the back of my mind my analytical self says just see how it goes, it's my "play safe" so that I'm not disappointed if things don't gothe way I would like.
I'm encourged by the fact that you ladies keep going even after unsuccessful attempts and that is very helpful to me.
As usual all the best to you all
