WH Fee--Confusion

Hi Folks,
Unfortunately, I’ve cycled through the IVF program at Wilford Hall twice this year with no luck. The good news is we are going at it again in January. Having been around the block with the $4500 fee, I understand the breakdown of the costs: $3500 (IVF) & $1000 (ICSI)—for those that need the procedure. I also understand that the cost could increase; I’m ready for this…..if only they (WH) would inform me of the change/increase.

I stopped by TRUE Research this past week to pay for my cycle in Jan and inquire about the $1000 reimbursement for the last cycles' ICSI, which we did not need. They said that it’s no longer $1000 that they reimburse, its $900. The missing $100 is a penalty for not using ICSI. Did I miss something?!?!

I realize that it’s only $100 to some, but its $100 to me…..gosh darn it! I don’t remember anyone informing me of this deduction, I have only been told about the flat $1000 reimbursement. Let me also say that I’m absolutely grateful for the care at WH and count my blessings that I’m cycling through. I just get a little uneasy with ‘hidden’ fees.

I’m frustrated, so I’m hoping that someone can clarify this mess for me. I may have missed something.

BTW: Good news--for those that cycled in August, your checks ($900) should be in the mail next week.

I cycled in WH in Jan 2009. My refund for ICSI was $1,000. I don't know why they changed to $900. I am sorry about that. How can you get "punished" for not using ICSI? That doesn't make sense to me. Just my opinion.

I would give Freddie or Erica a call and verify this new change. I know this new $1000 ICSI fee just kicked in April of 2008 being that we cycled in Jan of 2008 and never had to pay this fee upfront. I think it is truly unfair to penalize you..... The only reason they started collecting the fee up front is because after people had their cycles, they had a hard time recovering this fee.... Wishing you lots of luck in your upcoming cycle....

I was at the class on November 4 and Dr King said that it is 1000$ reimbursed because some people were not paying the differnce if it was later determined they needed ICSI and now it was required upfront. straight from the Drs mouth... i would make sure that you have the right information, im with you 100 dollars is not chump change!
