Question Will Womack accept frozen sperm from a lab that does Microsort in Virginia?

Look, I know this is very controversial, but I am going to go there. Some people will say I am playing God and others won't care. So, here it goes. My husband and I already have 2 daughters. He really wants a baby boy but so far, our average is not looking too good. There is a program called Microsort in Virginia that sort the sperm by sex. They use a dye to determine the sex of the sperm. Then they can freeze it and ship it to the clinic you are using. Well, I plan on using WOMACK at Ft Bragg since I live in that area. I was wondering if a military facility would allow a sperm sample that has been sorted to be used for IVF/ICSI? I don't know if this goes against their policy or not. So, does anybody know?

Christine

Call and ask them...I don't even know if you need to tell them that the sperm has been microsorted, but rather just ask if they will allow you to use sperm you have frozen somewhere else. Good Luck!!

Thanks, Aly. I guess you are right. They don't need to know. Thanks again.

Question

Well, I found out that microsort can only be done with ejaculated sperm, not testicular sperm. So, that's out of the question. THe only other way to guarantee a little boy is to get PGD for sex selection. However, I am guessing Womack won't offer PGD for sex selection. :/ If anyone knows different, let me know.

I checked the pricelist that Carolina IVF sent me, there's nothing listed for PGD. Maybe you can call them to see if they do it
