    Wilford Hall

Has Wilford Hall opened up their list yet? Last I heard they weren't taking any more patients. Thanks.

I'm not sure. The voice messages says there is an 6-8 month wait but it is the exact same message that I got last June when I started going there. If you leave a message they will get back to you about it. I can give you the number if you don't have it. Or are you talking about IVF list? I just got on it in January so I would think you could get on it.

DH and I were at WH two weeks ago for our initial consult. Our referrel for the inital ocnsul was done back in Jan of 08 so about a year for the first consult. We had the consult and were told Jan 2010, but we were happy about this. Two weeks late Freddie calls and asks if we can partake in the april cycle. Unfortunately we are a little short and DH does not want to put on CC card but we are now on Aug cycle.

So hopefully you will be contacted soon.

I was about the same as previous poster. I was on the waiting list for the first consult for a year. At my consult I was told it would be another year before I could do IVF. However, they were able to get me into the next IVF cycle. I was just there for my first IVF a couple weeks ago. So while you should be prepared to be on the list for a year, you will more than likely get in earlier. Dr. King told me a couple weeks ago that they are getting through everyone faster than they used to.

In reference to to the previous post. CRZCTLDY...would you think we could get pushed up again before the august cycle comes. We are about 1000 short but should deff have that money by aug.

Another question, how many women cycle per cycle...if that makes any sense. Just curious.

I hope everything went well with you. Any tidbits of info you think we should know?

There's no way to know for sure if you will get bumped to the April cycle. All I can say is that I heard from a lot of women when I was there in February who were bumped up. Also, be prepared for them to let you know last minute, so if you have any testing that still needs to be done, definitely try to do that before April. I was still missing a few tests when they called me early in December and was really stressed trying to get them completed in time for my scheduled IVF.

I have no idea how many women they have per cycle. I know that on my first day (baseline u/s and meds orientation), there were three other women starting the same day as me. Then there was a group of girls starting the day after me (I think we were the last week that they were starting people). And WH actually started the Jan/Feb cycle in January, so I think there were many many women in the cycle.

Do you live in San Antonio? If not, be aware that there is a Fisher House at Lackland for people undergoing treatment at WH. We were able to get into one of the houses and there were several other IVF patients staying in the house with us. You won't be able to make arrangements for that until you have the dates for your IVF, though.

Sorry my answers are so long. I can't give a short answer, apparently.

    Thank you for the reply

I was already offered the April cycle and we had to decline but wondering if you really went in aug for the aug cycle or if you went a little earlier. Thank you for the FYI about fisher house, we actually had friends staying there while we were there for our consult. Very nice facility. We are trying to get the last of our tests done, or REDONE I should say since they have to be within 6 mo to a year of IVF. Thank you for all the info, we appriciate it. Good luck to you.

I *think* they do 100 women per cycle. I'm pretty sure they aim to start 5 women each weekday for four weeks. I am a graduate of the April 08 cycle and I had my baby in January. I am going back for #2 this August. Maybe I'll see some of you there!
