this past Monday at my infertility consult at Madigan, they did a TVS just to check things out and the RE initially looked a bit confused and said "what cycle day on you on?" when I told him day 24, having taken 200mg clomid on days 3-7 and I thought I had surged (those darn OPK's were wrong!) on the day 15 and BD for several days because IUI timing wasn't possible, he said there's no way that happened because I had a huge follicle ready to go!
So they ran some labs and I was sent home with a trigger shot to take Tuesday. Then Tuesday morning the nurse called me to say I didn't need to take the trigger but to make sure to BD at lunchtime (felt like something out of a movie, calling my DH to meet me at home on our lunchbreaks to BD) and that evening plus the next several days because I was definitely surging.
So now, when I was initially expecting to wait for AF this weekend to then go back to Madigan to get started on more clomid plus injectibles/IUI, I am presently on a 2ww of sorts. AHHHH!!!!!
I am cautiously optimistic but so scared my hopes are up for nothing.
Has anyone else ovulated as late as day 24 or 25 on clomid?

Yes, I have been to both orientations. The one at Carolina IVF was really informal as it was just dh and I, but it was really educational. The facility is really comfortable, it's a small clinic but I think that with it being smaller it's more welcoming. The Staff are super nice and the embryologist has awesome credentials. It looks like our embies are in good hands.
Have you been to either orientation yet?

Yes we went to both orientations in July in anticipation of cycling in August. We actually paid and then 3 days later asked for a refund when I found out I wouldn't be cycling. I am not paying this time until it gets much much closer to be sure I don't get cancelled again.
I talked with Dr. P at first about using the same protocol as before - I was on the antagon protocol (no lupron) as my RE in Hawaii swore no lupron for high fsh women. Well, since I was successful I thought we should do the same thing...but the more I talked to him and read about the microdose flare protocol the more I realized it would be good since I am a "poor responder" and it is supposed to be good for women like me. Also, Dr. P. knows my previous RE as he used to be in the army too and he talked to him and he no longer uses Antagon. He said it was the "new" thing in 2005, but now he too uses microdose.
So, anyway, hopefully I will start to see my numbers come down. I think we will also be BDing this week and maybe we can save 6K...LOL

Ecmowife, did they run an E2 on you as well or check your progesterone? I was under the impression that in order for them to know there's an egg in the follicle, they had to get an E2 reading. Maybe I've got it all wrong and I hope I do because I thought you were supposed to ovulate within 10 days of taking your last dose of Clomid.
I'm pretty sure the doc knows more than me, but if someone could give me some clarification, that would be great!

Amy,
yes they did run those tests and here are the numbers:
E2 463, FSH 12.93, LH 43.99, Progesterone 3.14
I have previously only been tested for progesterone at CD 21 so these numbers don't mean a lot to me except that the nurse who called and told me to BD ASAP said that they meant that I was surging for sure and that ovulation was either immanent or had just occured.
does any of this make sense to anyone?
I too thought you were supposed to ovulate within 10 days of the last clomid pill, but as my DH says, my body has defied modern medicine before, so what's to stop it now?

Oh, the craps are starting to come on...Anyone needing AF so I can send her your way next just let me know and I'll send a pigeon your way. Well I was gonna try and get an appt down here in TN to get some BCPs and a pap done but its too much of a hassel trying to change regions so I'm just gonna borrow some from my aunt (ssh) and make an appt when I get back to Phoenix for the pap.

I want AF to stay far from me, but I am glad you can get your hands on some BCPs, it really is a hassle trying to get anthing done in a different region than the one where everything is set up.
