Since birth my DH has rocked Shelby to sleep, he knows it was a bad habit but enjoyed it to much to give it up. So EVERY night HE has to rock her, she won't let me do it.
Well finally I said I think she's ready to just go to bed without being rocked... My Dh was willing to give it a try, I have put her down for naps that way, so we did it and after about a week she just cries a minute or so, I just hope it stays this way.
Now if I can find out how to break her from getting up in the middle of the night and crying so hard until we go get her to bring her in my bed...I will be a happy camper.

Oh wow! I started rocking Ben at a year old! DH doesn't like it. But I love to do it. So we got a late start.

That's great that she went to sleep! But yeah, bringing her into the bed? Ooooh. I really hope you can get past that...Stacie(37)

Wow, she's getting to be a big girl! We never rocked the babies to sleep or let them sleep in our bed...not that I didn't want to but with two adults four kids three dogs and a cat, it gets a little crowded!
Good job Shelby!Stacy, 34 DH 45

Great progress! We had a time period where Jared was getting up during the night and crying hysterical till we brought him into our bed too. We just decided to hold firm on that one (after about a week of it) and let him CIO. The first night he cried for a good long while but he got better and better and he has been good lately.

Yeah - Shelby - progress!
we've had some middle of the night waking here - I always have to CIO with Max - he usually calms down after 10 minutes and then a couple nights later he's back to sleeping through the night. I made the mistake once of bringing him to our bed - just as I was starting to fall back asleep he started to pick my nose...... so back in his crib he went - and yelled for 10 minutes.Molly (37) Howard (45)
