Where are all of our May Mommies? I know that Shannon, Sconiless, and Someday Mommy are posting over on the April bb, but where is everyone else? Are we all adjusting to our new lives with our little ones. I know I haven't had much time to jump online since Ryann has been born, but I definitely want our playgroup to get started... It was great sharing pregnancy and that journey with all of you and it's going to be even better sharing the joys and woes of parenthood with y'all. SO come out, come out wherever you are May Mommies!!

I am here! DH took DD to dance and DS is napping, so I thought I'd stop by.
Seems DH has days and nights mixed up. He is a night party animal! Usually falls asleep between 10:30 and 11:30 pm, and then up every 2 1/2 hours after that until he is up for good around 7-7:30 am. Ya know, I can't even say he has his days and nights mixed up b/c he has the same routine during the day. I am just glad I can catch 2 hours sleep here and there during the evening, b/c I sure can't when he sleeps during the day as DD is runnning around!
The good thing is he is a VERY complacent baby when he is awake. Hardly any fussing, except when he had a slight case of constipation yesterday when he didn't poop for 36 hours . When he finally did the deed it was like rocks...poor baby.
But we are definitely over that hump now.
Boys are soooo different trhan girls. I am still getting the hand of changing him, which takes me 5-10 minutes per diaper change b/c of all the "equipment"!!!
I am glad to see everyone is doing well, and I am happy we will all still be able to keep in touch and compare notes.

I am here too. I have been posting on the April board (even though I am a May mommy) because there has not been much action here.
Let's get things going over here!!
Jared is almost a month old and I am afraid to take him out!! I would love to go out for dinner (I am dying for Ruby Tuesday's ribs) or even just to the mall. I am nervous because he has not had his shots but if I have to wait another month to go anywhere I will go crazy!! Am I being paranoid about not taking him out?Hilary (37) DH (40)

I'm here too! Been posting and lurking on April, but I'm curious to see some May photos!
Hilary--DH and I chose this dive of a Chinesse restaurant for our first diner outing with Ian. It helped break us all in -- and since the place was practically empty we didn't worry about bothering anyone, having people touch him, etc. Just chose your first excursion carefully, but it will make you feel so much better to get out!

Oh Hil, I know how you feel about wanting to get out. I try to take Ryann out once a day and only for a short amount of time. Our first outing was to the Pharmacy and as soon as she showed the signs that she was about to fuss, we left the store. We've been out since, but it's never very far from the house. I did take her up to my work place yesterday afternoon (an hour away) and she was really good there, but screamed on the ride home because she was hungry. I had to stop at a rest stop to feed her because I felt so guilty for letting her scream. Good luck with your first outing! Let us know how it goes and if you decide to go to TGIF's. I love that place!

Hi all! This is my first time checking in here. Things are going okay - Larkin isn't sleeping well at night so when I get a chance during the day I try to nap - its hard to do when you've also got a 3 1/2 yr old to look after as well though. My Mom has been with us since she was born, but is going home Sunday - she's pretty much taken care of laundry, cleaning and most of the cooking these last two weeks, so things will probably really go to h**l here in hurry come Monday!
I gave up on b/f - she was taking an hr to nurse and then within 45 min - hr later she was ready again - had some discomfort for the past couple days, but am over that now. We're actually afraid she has a reflux problem - we take her to see the dr. on Monday for her two week check up. She spits up so much after she eats. She was doing it when I was b/f and we've tried Similac & Nestle formulas and it hasn't gotten any better. She really chows down when she has a bottle, so we burp her alot and make her take frequent breaks since she takes it so fast if we'd let her. We also keep her slightly elevated with a towel rolled up under her mattress or in her bouncy seat when we're not holding her, but none of that has helped so far. Hopefully we'll fnd out more Monday when we see her dr.
We have ventured out three times so far - once to go to the lactation consultant, once to get groceries and once to run a few other errands. She never got out of her car seat though and slept the entire time so we didn't have to worry about people coming up and touching her or anything. I would think now is a safe time to get out and about because its not the typical flu season and the babies shouldn't be coming into contact with too many sick people. If you do go out, keep the baby in a car seat so people can't come up and try to hold the baby or anything.
I'm having some problems with my incision from the c-sec - today I noticed it had started to ooze a little and there's a slight odor - called the ob and they called in a prescription for an antibiotic for me. Its started to itch too, but the steri strips are starting to peel a little, so I figured that's what the itching is about. It doesn't hurt or anything though - at least not more than it should. It actually feels a little better every day.
My good news is that I have officially lost all my baby weight (20 lbs) and am back down to my pre-pg weight. Although I still have 30 more pounds to lose to get back to where I was before I got pg with Ds.
Hope everyone is settling in with their babies!Tiffany
