I am having a tough time figuring out what to get Daniel for Christmas. Honestly he'd be happy if I got him his own pots and pans a wisk and spatula! Anyway, he is at an age where the little stuff is too little but the 2 and up stuff might be too old. Since there are no other siblings he doesn't have a huge variety of toys so i could see what he might be interested in. I wanted to buy him a little tykes kitchen (it's blue and stainless look) but DH wants nothing to do with it. Even though I know Daniel would love it I'll respect DH.
I have bought him a sit-n-spin, Mr. Potato head and Fisher price Discovery airport. What are your kids into these days? Ball pits, Thomas train, elmo etc??? HELP!

She's getting 24 month clothes because she's outgrowing her 18 month stuff.
,MIL got her a kitchen at a yard sale.
My one sister is getting her the Crayola easel because she loves to color
I put "Wonder Pets" stuff on her list for BIL and maybe MIL. And Laurie Berkner and Sandra Boynton music...
I think we'll get her a playhouse for OUTSIDE! She loves to be OUTSIDE! I'd rather get her one big thing than a bunch of junk.
I'm not into a lot of toys and she has TONS of Duplo, then the dollhouse and kitchen handmedowns, dollies, Pop-Ons blocks...

Holden is getting a Step 2 kitchen. Husband picks about it, but we got it anyways, some of the best cooks are men. Did site to store w/Walmart and it's brown and so very gender neutral. That plus 101 pieces of food as a combo..then we got him a stainless steel set of pots and pans. This is from Santa.
From us he's getting several smaller toys, lots of clothes, books, two pair of shoes, lots of fun things to open. My dad is getting him the little tikes basketball goal that grows with you, my mom is getting legos and clothes, my inlaws the little tikes workhorse bench with tools.
He loves ELMO!!!!....Me, 35

We are still deciding. We wanted to get Trin a lot of girly things, since most of the toys they have *look* more boyish for Austin. We also thinking about the kitchens, in each room. one boy and one girly one. Clothes, and books. They are into books right now. They will crawl on my lap and love when I read to them. They like the touch and feel books. So we will see!!!!

My parents just bought Ella the step 2 deluxe kitchen at costco for only $115 she absolutely LOVES it! She also loves her elmo live and carries him around the house...he isn't allowed to be on the floor always putting him on top of the table or couch. What else......my mom also got her a cd player (pink miss kitty or something) and I will get her cd's so she can have music on while she plays with her kitchen. Oh and this is boy/girl too...mega blocks. They are huge legos. She puts them together and builds things. And of course books, books, books - loves books.
Did anyone see that news report on the toxic toys??? Ella has two of the fisher price tables and I didn't hear the rest of it b/c I had to run to work. Any insight on this would be appreciated as I now feel like I am poisoning my child thru her toys.

Thanks for the ideas! My DH did break down and we went to Toys R Us and bought a Fisher Price Kitchen for Daniel. It is small and will fit into a corner good thing...we are running out of room!! So far I have bought him a Sit and Spin (had to as I loved this as a kid), Mr. Potato head, Fisher Price Little people airport and a Bean bag chair. I think my sister bought him mega blocks and Chuck the talking truck.
My other sister has a ball pit toy that Daniel loved when we were there over the summer...I contemplated this one but not sure if he'd still be into it. He is also into Sesame Street these days so may buy Tickle me Elmo.
I did not see the report on the toxic toys though... I am going to look it up right now though. Let you know what I find...Kim

My son loves Elmo. Sesame Street is his favorite. He has 2 Elmo's now. He loves to carry them around and feed them snacks. He loves to cook also. I was not sure about the kitchen, but I found an Elmo Restaurant. It has a cook place and oven, with utensils. But, it also comes with a cash register and play money. This makes DH happy, because it is not too girly. I may buy some extra pots and pans. I also got him a chair that looks like a recliner, it matches our den furniture, but it rocks. I got him a motorized motorcycle. A firetruck. I'm thinking about getting him a ball pit or the pop up tents(like a little club house). I've seen them in Handy Manny and Dora.
He has tons of blocks, balls and the basketball goal, vacuum and all the other little stuff.
Thanks for the good ideas.Stacey

My mom bought the girls the step 2 kitchen/ market thing so they can both play at the same time and with a couple friends too. They love the fruit and veggies. She wants to hold it for their bday in April though, not sure why?! I think they would love it now and it would help with being stuck indoors for winter. Oh well. I have two dolls and accessories for them, a couple of little strollers, the My Big World Book, bible lift the flap book, the fridge farm and fridge alphabet (they love to play with magnets now.) I also got them the melissa and doug alphabet magnets and the animal ones too.
Dh bought them each a train that they can ride on a circle track and he will connect them so they can ride together, so cute! We also got them those push cars to use around the house and go for walks with when it's warm again. They have an obsession with ELMO and I've been lucky to find cheap used ones at various resales. We have about 7 so far and most were like $4 at the most. They carry them from one place in the house and line them up on the window sill, or on the first stair. Too funny. They love those best out of all of their toys. Other than Elmos, they love books, so I hope we get some from family and that they like the ones I bought them. And dolls are starting to be really fun for them now. Love having girls!!!
This Christmas will be so fun this year for all of us. Can't wait to see pics of everyone!
