Question Clothes...

are you addicted to buying clothes? I never thought i would be but i can not pass on a good deal. I have bought so many items from friends... all great things like Nike, Gap, Gymboree, Childrens place and Old Navy.
I just dropped another 50 on Gymboree stuff and sadly i am more obssessed with buying for Beau. maybe beause i love all the big boy looking clothes or him. So tell me do you buy alot? I feel i get great deals but i bet i have spent 2-300 bucks lately and i really need to stop now. I am already bnuying stuff for next summer... LOL....

where do you shop?

Do you resale items?

I've already been ridiculed on another board for this admission, but I hate shopping...unless it's online. Don't have the patience for it. My DH, on the other hand, could spend HOURS in one store. Every time I send him out to buy one thing for the baby, yup, he comes home with a new outfit for her! LOL Needless to say, I rarely ask him to pick something up!

I am extremely fortunate in that I have many friends and family who have girls who are ahead of K...we have so many hand me downs, I think we're good until age 4! And of course, by the time she gets there, those girls will have grown out of more clothes. (There is ONE advantage for being an older mom! Most of my friends already have older kids!)

At some point I know she's going to realize that the stuff isn't in fashion! LOL THEN I'm in trouble!

Good luck, hon!

I've said this time again (but don't tell my hubby! although I tell him all the time! LOL), I think I married a GIRL. You should picture this...a grown man goo-gooing over baby clothes! Oh, he just LOVES them!

Oh - I am SOOOOOOOOOO bad about this . . . We just bought Piper four outfits and spent about $120.00 which isn't too teribbly bad (but we still need to buy 6mnth sleepers, onesies, an day-to-day stuff). I also just bought her two new pairs of shoes for the fall . . . I am going to be in a lotta trouble . . Have not done re-sale yet . . we do babiesrus, nordstrom, gymborree, children's place for the most part . . . i wish i didn't like shopping so much~!

Yes! I do seem to be addicted, I make special trips to babygap, nordstrom rack, babies r us and some local stores to see what's on sale. I try not to get too far ahead of myself -- the largest sizes I have bought are 6-12 months.

I haven't sold any clothes, I think I will keep them or pass them on to friends/relatives. I've sold some equipment (like swings, bouncy chairs) through craigslist.

T2 I am w/ you - I am NOT a shopper - I dread going to the mall or having to find an outfit for a function. I am a much better online shopper...I did just go a little crazy online w/ Gymboree and Old Navy for some new fall ensembles for the kiddies!

DH is worse than I am and can be in and out of a store in less than 5 minutes...he doesn't want to spend the time looking and will say he'll just go back later...

I feel so sad giving out the clothes. I didn't sell any yet, I prefer giving them out to people who might need it.

Aykin couldn't even wear most of his clothes. He was so small when he was born then what a growth spurt... I am planning to buy 12 months stuff so he can at least wear them for a few months...

I LOVE Old Navy stuff... not too expensive and in Memphis, they always have things on sale. We also have a ROSS over here where you can find the brand names at a lower cost. I usually buy 6 pack Carters White onesies. I love them. they are soft and both of them can wear it... then I put on Old Navy cotton pants. Easy peasy.

For formal clothing though.. one of my friends takes care of that. She is a close friend and doesn't have children yet... and everytime she goes out, she buys something. it is unbelivable... and thanks God I like the things she buys...

so for now I think I am doing well. and trying to stay away from Baby Gap, Gymboree etc. Otherwise, I will buy it all. Once they walk, I am sure I will spend a lot more on their clothes because I will be able to see it more...
