I just had to update and say that we brought our baby girl home from the hospital on 12-2-2010. We were matched with birth mom in June, I attended all her doctor appointments with her, and I was with her all through labor and delivery. It was a stressful 4 days at the hospital just because of all the unknowns, a birth father choosing to cause drama, and lack of sleep for us all. A dream came true when we walked out of the hospital with our new family of four - mom, dad, Mandalyn (12) and Temperance Joy (2 days old). Birth father did sign papers on 12-1 and court is scheduled for TPR on the 28th of this month. Per birth mom's request our whole family - the 4 of us - will be present to support her. We have remained in daily contact through e-mail and things seem to be going well for her. She is looking forward to going back to work on Monday now that she is medically released to. Thoughts and prayers are appreciated until all is signed and complete on the 28th, but we truly believe that birth mom is content and happy with her decision and as she had told us before - her word means something and court is just a technicality, when you take her home is when her decision has been made.
Wishes do come true and my little one is proof of it!
Hope

Oh, how wonderful! Congratulations on bringing home you daughter! It sounds as though you have every reason to expect things to move smoothly and for the 28th to be just a technicality. Congratulations!!!!!!

I'm so glad I looked through the adoption boards today for news! Congratulations on the wonderful addition to your family. I know it's been a long road, but in the end....your daughter is home! I will keep you in my thoughts that the termination hearing goes off without a hitch and you can really breathe easy. Have a terrific Christmas with your girls.

Things did go well on the 28th and now we just wait until May when we can petition to finalize the adoption! Court was rough simply because it is a tough situation and we felt bad for the birth mom but she did well and spoke her mind to the judge as only she could.
After court was done she came over for a visit that lasted about 3 hours which was really nice too.
Our other progression to the finalization day is we have 1 post placement visit finished and the next scheduled for the 18th of February and then only 1 more. It is a great feeling having Temperance with us and we have no doubts at all that she was the little one that was meant to be with our family. It took us 4 years to get to this point, but good things do come to those who wait!!

Our first family picture - still in the delivery room!

Your girls are adorable. Hopefully post-placement visit #2 is done and you are one step closer to finalization.
