Your husband works a cushy job. No physical labor, just sitting in air conditioning all day, not getting sweaty or dirty. He comes home from work, goes straight to the shower and only washes his privates. He claims that he was sweaty only in that area and wanted to be fresh. Would you think this is suspicious? Wouldn't you suspect cheating?

Would you suspect cheating?

I would be suspicious only because of movies and TV.
My DH works in an office but the A/C is horrible. I hear ALL the TIME about how sweaty his crack is (it is such a turn on)...he spends a lot of his time trying to stay "fresh" in that area - so it is a plausible reason.
Was this a one time thing? Was it a warm day? Hot car?
(I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt - do you have more reasons than just this to suspect anything?)

Well, I didn't even know he was doing this until last night. He asked our son to get him a plastic cup. My son came and told me that he helped daddy by getting him a cup. I went to see what he was doing and he was standing in the bathtub washing his privates and rinsing with the cup. I told him how I thought it was weird that he was only washing that area. He got a little miffed and said he didn't care what I thought. That he was sweaty in that area and was getting fresh. I had told him before that he made himself look suspicious because he barely touched me for a hello kiss and hug before going straight to the tub. I always assumed he was showering, but now I know he was only washing his privates. Which looks even more suspicious to me because his job is very well air conditioned and he doesn't sit in one place all day. He has told me that women flirt with him at work. I guess I am suspicious because of his past. If I didn't know about his past I probably wouldn't think of it. He was a big "ladies man". Tons of women, one night stands and during his ex-marriage he cheated on his wife alot with women he worked with who flirted with him. Every time he and his ex would have a fight he would go to work and cheat with one of the women that flirted with him. So, this runs in my mind when I see this new behavior. When I sat and thought about it I realized that it is on the days we have been arguing that he does this. On normal days he comes in and just changes into comfy clothes without washing anything. I want to believe that he is just stressing on these days because of our fights and this could cause him more persperation, but I can't help but wonder if it's something else. Perhaps I am overreacting, but this has caused other things to look suspicious. Like some days I hear a female voice come in the background while we're talking on the phone and he will say he has to go and he'll call me right back, but doesn't call for 30 minutes or an hour.
It feels good to get this all out. Thanks for listening to me vent my stress.

Yes, I would suspect cheating esp when you said this is pattern he repeated with his ex. I'm sorry but I can't help but wonder (and I don't mean this to sound cruel) but why you would marry (and have five children) with this man?

I would suspect cheating too. His past is a BIG RED FLAG. Like Dr. Phil says, "The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior."

I was going to say no until you explained about his past and that it only happens when you fight. That does change things.

It is extremely odd, if anything. Maybe he has jock itch or something? Have you confronted him yet? I'm very curious to know what you find out...Keep us updated.

Well, I asked him and he said that he has a rash in the crook of his leg from sweating. I don't believe him even more now because twice since then he has come home smelling like perfume. I have told him, "You smell like perfume." He just looks at me funny and says that I'm nuts.
