excellent nuchal fold scan

Well I'm starting to get more excited! We had the nuchal fold test today, plus last week they took my blood so they gave us the results right away. The folds were nice and thin, around 1.2 mm, and they did see nose bones for both twins. I was so sure something would be wrong with at least one with my being 38 and seemingly on the wrong end of lots of odds! But thankfully all appears to be well!! As others have said about this age, it's so great how they move around, we saw arms and legs and even fingers.

I guess the reality of there being 2 has started to sink in. I thought today, "How am I going to get to know two babies at one time when it was so hard to get to know 1 the first time around?!?!!?" DH noted that was our first. Then I thought, "you just have to have faith that it will work out." That got the George Michael song stuck in my head which cheered me up. Whether this is what I would have chosen or not, this is what is happening, and I know we'll be really glad in the long run. So I'll try to embrace the chaos! I think I am also feeling better because my pain is pretty well gone and the nausea is lightening up. I lost 1.5 lbs. in the last 3 wks though so I'm going to take more of the zofran and start trying to eat more (not like I haven't been trying already!). We have decided there's no real reason to wait for anything else coming up before telling people, plus I already look 4 mos. pg, so we are coming out of the closet, which is fun. Take care all!

aaahhhhhhhh I'm VERY happy everything went well today Monica I have no clue what it will be like with twins plus Lucy but with my two that are 1.5 years apart it is PURE CHAOS! LOL!! You'll get used to it. To be quite honest, I wouldn't want it any other way

I hope it's smooth sailing from here on out hon. Just thrilled for you!! What fun it will be to tell people now. Plus the fact that you have TWO in there!!!

Everything sounds great Monica, how exciting! Time to get ready. Telling people is going to be fun especially with the added surprise of TWO.
Glad to hear your nausea is less, my so far is not and I am Zofran dependent.

What great news!! Glad everything is on track and they are both healthy!! I bet once you start telling people, it will really start to kick in.

As for getting to know two at a time, It will happen. And it will be chaotic for a while, until you can establish a schedule and stick to it. That's a big key for multiple mommies.

Big Hugs!! Congrats on the great news!

Hey Monica

What amazing news. I'm glad that things are starting to improve for you now and those little ones are doing well in there. Twins is a lot to get your head around but I am sure you are just the women for the job. Take lots of care of yourself and keep us posted on how you are doing. I'm popping in to see how you are from time to time.

love

Gemma
