From unemployed to three jobs!

A few weeks ago, I had no income. Today, I have three jobs. (Not including raising the girls! )

I hope that I can keep up the schedule. Hopefully, all together they will bring in enough money that I won't have to sweat every nickel!

Here's what I've got...

Editing images from home for my old job - 20 hours or so a week - I do this mostly late at night. It's 11:30 pm here and I'm uploading right now!

Friday and Saturdays nights from 11 pm to 6 am at K-Mart stocking shelves.

I start Monday working at the girls' daycare. Monday thru Friday from about 8 am until close at 6 or 6:30.

Hopefully H will stop telling me now how he's the only one making any money!

I think that the daycare will be good for the girls. I'm not sure how much they are going to charge me for the girls. I just hope that I'm not going to be working full time to come home with like $50 or $100 a week!

When do you plan to sleep? I hope you haven't taken on more than you can chew. Is the K-Mart gig really necessary? It will be hard to function on those hours. Maybe dh should be the one taking a second job given his lack of help with the kids. I'm also a little concerned about your leaving him alone with the girls overnight since you've said in the past that he won't get up with them if necessary.

I don't mean to sound so negative, but I can't help but worry.

Meredith, I've had the same concerns! Since I've been working on the images into the wee hours of the morning, I've just woken him up if Alexia wakes up an hour or so after I go to bed. I just tell him that I'm not getting up and it's up to him. He complains, but he does it.

I actually voiced those same concerns to him today and he swears that he will be able to step up to the plate. He's been telling me for a couple of years now how he's going to get a second job. It has never happened and it never will!

I figured that I can sleep on Saturday and Sunday mornings from about 6:30 am to 11 or so. That should be fine. I really don't get much more than that hour wise now.

K-Mart sounds like a good gig, because in addition to getting paid (and it's literally blocks from my house), I get a decent discount. That could really help with clothes and shoes for the girls and diapers, etc!

I was offered the K-Mart job before the daycare. Since I'm working at the daycare this week to "try it out", I didn't want to blow off K-Mart so that I could fall back on it if need be.

I'm going to give it a try. If it becomes too much, K-Mart will have to go. But I'm hoping that at least for a little while, I'll be able to do it. And Alexia is four months old and hopefully will start sleeping through the night (unlike her sister).

Thanks for being so concerned. You're such a doll!

I hope it all works out, but unfortunately I too think you've taken on WAY too much, I was tired just reading about all those jobs! I would be at kmart worrying the girls are at home screaming. As a stay at home mom I total understand wanting to earn money to help out though. Good luck!

Hope all works out well. I work 2 12 hour night shifts a week so I know how it feels to be up all night and sleep little during the day. Luckily my DH is pretty god with the kids.
