Joey's 2 month appt.

Joey had his two month appt. today. He was 25 1/4 inches long and weighed 12 pds 8 oz. He also got his shots and oral vacinations today. He cried sooooo hard! Mommy cried, too!

Pedi gave me a RX for Zantac to try for him, but he wasn't convinced that Joey really needs it?! He said to try it for a week and see if it helps; if it doesn't help he said to stop giving it to him. We've been giving him Gripe Water for gas issues. We'll see if the Zantac helps or not. I don't think he has horrible issues, but I definately want to do whatever I can to make him more comfy.

Pedi said I can continue with the two supplements daily of formula or cut them out... He said it is up to me at this point. I think I will keep the end of the day supplement for now. We'll see.

Sounds like all went well!! What kind of oral vaccination did he get? I agree, the shots were awful!! Have you noticed and side effects from them? Sore legs or low grade fever? We have a little of that here. Hope you see results from the zantac. Kolby spits up often (yesterday way awful), but never seems bothered by it, but I would like it to lessen even more than it has started to just for my comfort level! Do you have him sleeping on an incline at night? We borrowed a wedge positioner from a friend and it seems to have worked wonders at night. Hope you get some answers soon so little Joey is comfy and pain free very soon!!

I'm trying to figure out what the oral vaccination was... They gave us a paper copy of information on each of the vaccinations, but I haven't been able to figure out which was the oral. He didn't seem to have any side effects besides being fussy, so he got two dosages of tylenol yesterday... pedi said he'd be sore from the shots and I wanted to ward off any fever that might develop ahead of time.

Joey doesn't spit up very often I don't think, but the pedi said sometimes they have reflux and don't actually spit up. He said if they don't spit up a lot it could still be making Joey uncomfortable and that's why he is fussy. We had an incline wedge for Joey, but he moves around a lot at night and it didn't look safe for him anymore so we stopped using it. He sleeps on his belly a lot now, and it seems to help him sleep better.

Lyla's appt is on Thursday...I'm so nervous about the shots. I'm sorry Kolby and Joey were fussy. Daviso, I didn't realize Joey was fussy. Lyla is not, but William was a very fussy baby. I was convinced something was wrong with him. He wasn't getting enough milk, he was gassy, I was eating the wrong foods with the breast milk, he was teething early, he had reflux, etc...these were all the things I was convinced was wrong. I pretty much always had to hold him...it seemed he was never comfortable...The doctor called him "uneasy"...he said he was a little colic...he wasn't colic in the sense that he screamed, but he was just uncomfortable a lot. Anyway, he totally grew out of it at 3 months. I hope the Zantac helps or that like William he grows out of it. Could Joey have his nights and days mixed up still? I can't imagine staying up until 3:30...ugghhh....

joey is growing great! hope the zantac helps him. my friends' little girl is on it and it does help with her spitting up. i'm sorry he goes to bed so late. that'd be rough. i need to be in bed by 10pm these days...i'm just SO tired...so thankfully i just lay w/ jameson beside me and nurse us both to sleep! he is in his bed by 10:30pm usually and needs to eat again around 4:30am. then we both go back to sleep for several more hours. i'm so glad he's a good sleeper. christian was NOT and still isn't all that wonderful at it. jameson is pretty easy.

I've done this a couple times in the morning when Joey gets up too early and I want to sleep some more. LOL It's so funny b/c he'll nurse himself to sleep and fall off the boob, and then later on he'll wake back up, and I will feel him latch on again and start feeding. Somehow he scoots around and finds his way back to the boob to start nursing again when he wakes up. It gives me the "awwwww" feeling.

I love side lying nursing. It's so special.

Lyla had her two month appt. today. I really wasn't prepared for the screaming she did with her shots. three in total. one in one thigh and two in the other. William never screamed like that. wimpered and cried a little, but Lyla screamed for like 2 minutes straight. It was so awful. Then she slept most of the day away and didn't seem to eat as much as usual. A little fussy, but nothing major. Hopefully she'll sleep tonight since she was asleep most of the day. We'll see. ANyway, she is 14 pounds 7 oz and almost 24 inches. She's a healthy little lady.
