Anyone else have a baby that isn't crawling? I am starting to worry after reading all of the updates.

Hi Mel,
I think that is one of the dangers of having us have our babies so close in age and we can't help but compare and it does make us worry! I was worried for so long when J wasn't rolling over and all the other babies were, and then one day he started rolling and a few weeks later he crawled. I looked at my first DS's baby book to see when he did a few things, and he didn't actually crawl til the end of his 8th month, but I did not worry about it at the time b/c I didn't know how he compared with other babies. KWIM? I am sure that A is just fine and needs a little more time.
My big worry for J is his language. He is not babbling with consonant sounds at all. It is hard for me to read about the other babies who are doing that, but I just tell myself that it doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with J.... he is just taking his time. They will all be walking, talking, and potty trained by the time they get to Kindergarten, right! ha-ha
Just keep an eye on him and talk it over with your pedi. Are you having a 9 month checkup? Hugs!

Mel, I agree with Holly. I think Adam is perfectly fine (though I know it's hard not to compare and hard not to worry).
I know 2 babies in real life that aren't crawling yet either -- one is 10 1/2 months and the other will be 10 months this weekend. Btw, they are both the "baby" in their family too -- one of them is a BFF's son and she's convinced that he can crawl but doesn't b/c he knows that they are just too eager to get whatever he wants for him, LOL.
Plus I've read in MANY sources that some babies never crawl and go straight to walking. I bet Adam is just one of those sweet, laid back babies!

I agree with other pp. I have a friend whose son is 10.5mths & is still not crawling. He is starting to pull up on things, but no crawling. He will probably be one of those kiddos that moves right onto walking!

Melanie,
I was thinking the same thing. My DD turned 8 mos on the 20th and she is still not crawling. She's not pulling up to standing either. She just rolls around and does a lot of "tummy surfing".
I have to remind myself though that my DS, although he cruised along furniture a good bit, did not crawl until 2 weeks before he turned 1. Then, he walked at 14 mos. Every baby is different, our babies will get there, enjoy the time now, b/c as you know, once they do get mobile, it opens the door to a whole new game.
