Hey all..I received this in an email today...

"Hi new mommies, my mom sent me this site – I thought it was interesting. I’d rather not know … something else to worry about…..but something I didn’t know about and probably should ….

That’s an interesting site. It’s the chemical Bromine that is the flame retardant that is in everything, especially the foam in your mattress, carseat, plastics, etc. when these products are exposed to UV and heat they release a toxic chemical. That’s why they say not to eat out of plastic heated in the microwave. I bet this chemical is not only in your car and in a baby’s carseat foam, but also in their pj’s. The Disney PJ’s I just got addy were tagged with a special tag, that noted they are not flame retardant and I thought that was odd, but now I don’t think necessarily a bad thing …. The car seat we got her had a rating of .6 low concern with .8 Bromine 31% of that .8 in the seat, whatever that means. Its interesting that this chemical kills sperm. I bet if you can’t get pregnant b/c of a low sperm count, no one would think to ask what kind of car you drive, for the flame retardant chemical that might be in the seat cushion. I thought it was interesting to note how high this chemical has been found in breastmilk. For all those that think your body can manufacture something better than what can be produced in a lab, the lab seems to at least factor out and eliminate the risk of toxic chemicals …."
