BFP ment: Success with low morphology

We wanted to share the story as some hope for folks with low morph. We TTC'd about 8 months when my OB/GYN send him to S/A in April. We found out his count was low end of normal, but motility was 40% and morphology was 4%. (in Krueger) Very devastated. Started to see RE on June.
I had my issues, many small fibroids, endo, polyps. They were surgically corrected.
My DH refused to go to urologist and i did some research, suggesting me that there are not much we can do about low morph. RE agrees with it and assures me that they have worked with guys with this numbers and had successes in past.
So we did first IUI on 9/10. His post wash was 19mil in count, motility 45%. didn't give us morph as the good sperms has been washed and selected for the procedure.

and i got BFP!. I took Clomid 50mg for CD3 to CD7, Ovideril to trigger and one more Ovideril to lengthen my Luteral phase. I also had accupressure massage day before IUI and my RE put two accupuncture needle on me at the time of procedure to enhance the chance (RE is certified for medical accupuncture.)
DH has been taking Once-a-day Mens' vitamin tab and extra folic acid per RE's directions since June. He cut off his beer (he loves beer....) and tried to eat more vegitable (He is a meat lover

Not sure what worked but the combination we did worked. off course this doesn't wipe off our worries about low birth effect etc, but i just wanted to let you know it is not impossible.

Best of luch for everyone!

Mrs. A

CONGRATS to you ! That is awesome !! This low morphology is all brand new to me...I just got a call today from my doc...DH's SA results in although she hasnt sent me the actual numbers yet, I should get those tomorrow. But on the phone stated that the morphology was abnormal. Of course I did as much google searching I could & didnt really get a whole lot of info. I cant stop crying, I think its just all hitting me.....Her recommendations was to go see an RE, which I totally have not wanted to do. She told the RE a little bit about our situation thus far (me off pill since may 08, using opk's, did 1 round of clomid). He seemed to think our best bet was to do IUI. Now this is all so much to digest & take in....I just was telling my best friend I hoped we would never have to go that route. DH is pretty much completely against all of that. He is just one of those "whatever is meant to happen will happen"....so just feeling down. I am hoping after having some time to process it all maybe things will improve. But reading your story does give me hope that it can happen. Thanks for sharing !

Thank you for your warm words everyone. At some point, we thought we are lost. DH is a typical male who won't show the emotions but i can tell he was getting uneasy with the fact that his little guys doesn't work well. I was devastated. I am a worry bug and thought it would be more on me, on this IF deal. However, something has worked and i hope it happens to everyone. For me, as soon as i decided not to be bothered by my work deal this year, it happend. Yeah, we went through IUI but the odds are very low (15 to 20% with meds)
So don't lose hope (i know it's easy for someone else to say.... but) and be happy with what we have. it CAN happen.
