question

my DH has a child from a previous marriage who is 12 now. we have been ttc for almost 3 years now. hell have to produce a sample soon. is it possible his sperm count could be low. ? (he's 38) he was exposed to radiation in desert storm. which was in 91. all his buddies who were to, all had girls. so i know it will affect the male sperm. but his daughter was conceived a few years after.

should i be worried?

It is possible for him to be normal but also possible to be low for many reasons though. It could be something wrong health wise it could be age it could be exposure to the radiation or to other environmental things. Theres alot of different things that can cause damage to a man's sperm so I wouldn't rack your brain to much just sit back and wait for the results (as hard as that is I know)

Did you get the results back from a SA and did he have any blood work done? There are a lot of new test that can be preformed that will give some insight into what happening. Here is a link to a lab that has a nice description of some of the tests that can be preformed.

One note about these tests is that a lot of doctors think that the results number doesn't mean as much as what's in the Standard SA(WHO/Kruger).
