ICSI with Occasional Motile Sperm

Hey there,

Here's my story:

Me:26 yrs,PCO,High Prolactin,Septate Uterus

DH:31 yrs,Low count,Low Morphology,Low normal forms

We are planning to do ICSI this month adn his latest report is very frustrating...Count says"Occasional motile sperm seen".Thats all.what does it mean?

Do we really have any good chances in this cycle.

Please do share your exp..

Thanks in advance.

I am sorry I don't have any advice. You might want to try and post it over on the general infertility section.

I just wanted you to know that somebody did see your post.

BTW---I have severe MF and I am awaiting results from my DH's repair surgery.

gwife, my DH had low count and zero moltility but ICSI worked for us. If the clinic you are going to has an experienced embryologist/andrologist they can pick a healthy sperm to inject into your egg (s). We got lucky with the first round of Natural cycle IVF. If you have PCOS you probably need stimulated IVF to get some eggs.

Vancella,

Thanks dear for this response. It raised my hopes!I have mild PCO and my Gynaec says that Iam perfect and in a good shape for ICSI.The one and only problem being my DH's count.what does this occasional sperm mean??"Zero Count" or what?

Iam highly concerned..

gwife- i am going to be doing ivf about the june week of June...My DH has HORRIBLE Morphology ( shape) low numbers and kind of low motility. On one of his SA morphology was 0 and the other one was 1....My RE said there is NO PROBLEM getting enough sperm to do ICSI. It seems ICSI is the best way to go for male factor when it is moderate-severe. She said all they are looking for is 10-15 and they can for sure find them. I agree, as long as your clinic has a good andrologist, it should be no problem! I have even heard of people with zero sperm getting pregnant with this! There is HOPE for sure!

Dear tenseintexas,

Your reply really made wonders and boosted my confidence...We have recently given his sperm for freezing and it says"2 Million count"

Hope he atleast maintains this count during ER.

Good Luck to you too!

Thanks for posting everyone. I didn't have a specfic a question but reading your posts is so helpful. We thought I was the only infertile situation to worry about in our IVF rollercoaster. Didn't give my DH's being an issue a thought. He just got a 0 sperm count.
I just want to cry. I wish i had more input to share but I am BRAND NEW to this part of it.

Gave EVERYTHING a rest for a while. Decided we were good as is for a year. Got accepted into IVF clinical study at RE and couldn't resist one more go of it.

You have a good chance! We only had like 20 dh sperm after surgery and they did not fertilize well but we have a baby. So ICSI will work. But I would only go to a IVF center that has a great lab like Cornell!!!! That is where it was invented.
