I read that you have to wait 3-6 weeks....not from having sex but from the time of your last sperm analysis

time frame should be 7 days to 3 months. I just looked at my paperwork. Unless he had a procedure done then this should be the time frame.

We "submitted" our first Sperm analysis today. How many did you do before the docs told you to have 1 more to determine whether you need iui or ivf? TIA.

imama- the doctors are not telling us to do IVF or IUI....it is a decision that we are going to make.....on the day of my first IUI my husband had 1.7 ( post wash) and 0% morphology.....unless the count has gone up to over 5 million and the morphology has goneup , we decided to go on to IVF. The RE gave us a 5% chance of IUI success with those numbers...I just wanted to check one more time to make sure it was not a fluke
She actually suggested doing on more IUI...but this is why I am getting another analysis...if I went in for another IUI and the numbers were that bad again, I would be kicking myself for not moving on!

I'm curious...your RE gave you a 5% chance of IUI success with the 1.7 million numbers OR if the count goes up to 5 million?

If the numbers stay the same....but I have rea don hear that some RE's won't even do it if it is less than 2 million and do not reccomend it if it is less than 5 million....os course, I have heard of people getting pregnant with just 250,000 sperm, so go figure!

What are your husband's numbers? Is there any hope of IVF for you?
