0% Morphology and Varicocele
Hi Everyone,
I am new to these boards. We found out a couple of months ago that my husband has 0% Strict Krueger morphology - all other parameters (including DNA Fragmentation) are normal. The doctor diagnosed him with a left varicocele and he will be having surgery to repair the varicocele two weeks from tomorrow. Has anyone had success getting pregnant after varicocele surgery? Has anyone had success getting pregnant with 0% morphology? All of this uncertainty has me going crazy lately. I really want this surgery to work and us to be able to conceive, hopefully naturally. To top it all off, we found out that our friends who just went off birth control are pregnant after one month of "half-witted" trying. Thanks for reading! CJ

Mk - Thanks for answering my post. You hear so much conflicting information out there about varicocele repair improving fertility that you start to not know what to think. My husband has some pain associated with the varicocele, so it's good that he's getting it done regardless, but this infertility struggle has been so hard on both of us.
How far along is your wife? It's great to hear that it worked for you! I'm really hoping that it works for us too. |

CJ,
My dw is now 29 weeks. I also had the pain associated with the varicocele. When it comes to others sayting about the varicocele repair you have to find out what version of the surgery they used. I had the micro-surgical type which requires a male inferterility specialist to perform it. From what I had read in my research is that it has the highest success rate. http://www.maleinfertility.org/new-varicocele.html The link shows the micro-surgical version. There is also the pros and cons of each type of surgery available. |

My husband is having the subinguinal microscopic surgery done. I actually just called the clinic and asked. A male factor infertility specialist is doing the surgery as well. Do you know if this is the same type of surgery as yours? It sounds like it is altlhough you called it "micro-surgical." I think I will do a bit more research.

I guess that it good news for us then! I really hope it's successful for us like it was for you and your wife! Best of luck to you with the birth of your baby! Thanks for answering my questions too.
