Urologists in Southern California?
Hi everyone! Anybody have any recommendations for a urologist in the LA area? My RE says she doesn't think my husband has to go, but since male factor has been diagnosed I think I would like to see one anyway and get an opinion. Looking everywhere I can to get assistance...!
THANKS!

Hi Kiwi, good to see you on the boards and welcome. i enjoyed chatting the other day and hope you have made some progress.
This is just my opinion based on the exam my DH's urologist did. But it's not so much having a great one, just one that can order the tests (SA's or blood work for testosterone). Unless you have a specific issue you are searching for. Like my DH has a vericocele which is like a vericose vein in the scrotum and is thought to over heat the swimmers and kill them of resulting in either low counts or motility moroph issues. So I would just start with a urologist that is in your insurance plan and see what they say. You are always allowed a second opinon so if you don't like what the have to say you can get with another one. Again depending on what the actual issue is with your DH's issue will determine the treatment. Mine is told he can have surgery and it's a 50/50 shot, I've heard great results and also not great so we have opted to try vitamins and such for now. I hope you find the path that is going to work for you and keep us updated on your journey. We are here for you if you need any support or just want to vent. We've all done it and needed it...lol Again welcome!!!

See a urologist with male factor is definatly the way to go. They found out I had a large varicocele which was corrected. It does not hurt to get checked out and find out if the issue can be fixed. Most re's will discourage because they loose business. They told us we had a less then 1% chance of a natural pg. I had the surgery, and went on clomid. 9 months later my dw is pg naturally.
