Question only have "abnormal" results and confusion

So DH did his SA and we finally got numbers. Mind you this was on my voice mail so I didn't have a chance to ask for more info. I have no idea what to do next.

Motility: 47 (they want at least 50% at 60 minutes)
Morphology: 17 (They want at least 30%)
pH: 8.6 (They want 7.2-8.0)

Since Motility is really close to being normal should we worry about it? How can we get better morphology? And how do we go about lowering his pH?

The nurse gave me the name of an urologist but I haven't had a chance to call them yet (thank you jury duty).

Can anyone help to shed some light on this? DH is in a bit of a mopy panic since he thought it was all my issues and HE would be the clean one. TIA

What was the total count of sperm in the sample? I would not panic. I have heard alot worse numbers before. Seeing a urologist esp if its a male infertility one is not a bad thing. Normally they can help identify what is causing the issue and correct it.

That's part of my frustrations. Those numbers are all that they gave me. I left a message to have them fax them to DH so we'll see.

Our dh numbers are similar. His numbers are a little low, but not terrible. My dh finally had his appointment with a urologist that my RE recommended and we discovered that what an RE and a urologist consider to be acceptable can be quite different. Our urologist would not have had a problem with your husbands pH for example. One thing that our RE recommended before we went to see the urologist was some sort of male fertility vitamin (like fertile blend....we used fertilaid). It has the right blend of vitamins that help in sperm production! There were also some other little changes that they suggested. To give you a little bit of hope...my iui was two weeks after dh SA and the sample we took in that morning was MUCH better (I'm talking count tripled, motility up 10% before washing and was at 95% after washing). So, even close together, two samples can be very different! Have dh see a urologist because there are things that can be done to help at least a little bit! He should also be examined for a varicocele if he has not been already (esp if his count is low too)!
It's still kinda hard to say without the count, but the rest of your numbers aren't terrible. Have you considered an IUI? With marginal male factor, it has pretty decent success rates!

So I was frustrated with the lack of information the dr office was giving so I asked them to fax me a copy. The only other things that were on there were
Volume 4ml (normal is > or = 2)
Counts 26.4 mil (nomal is > or = 20 mil)

It's so difficult if they are not completely sharing information with you! It looks like his volume is fine, but his count is on the low end of normal. Are you planning to see a urologist or are you okay with the results?

I think that we're ok with the results (unless a few more months produce the same results we've been seeing... BFN I mean). We've decided that if nothing happens over the holidays we'll go to the urologist.
